What can be done to get rid of this mark? I accidentally over exfoliated and got a chemical burn. (Photos)

This was on July 15th. I feel like the mark has not changed over the time and we are not rounding the 3 month mark. I went to the dermatologist and she told me to use differin (which as you can tell I'm going through a purge period) I went to another derm to inquire about v Cuerta laser and she said I was appropriate for it and the mark will fade on it's own. Is that true will the mark fade? Is there anything to expedite the process?
