The scar is slightly raised. I don't have any history of keloids, I usually heal very well with other scars I've had. But I am concerned about this one, since its on my face. I'm in my 20s. I took very good care of the wound, kept it covered with band-aids, rubbed coconut oil on it every day, never let it form a scab. Will my scar flatten out on it's own - if so when? Will the color improve?
I had my mole removed by a plastic surgeon, I had advised him I was prone to keloids before the surgery because I had my appendicitis surgery two years ago and have formed keloids scars. During consult I was advised that we would do excision to remove the mole and we would probably not use dissolvable stitches Incase a keloid forms and go with the stitches which would be removed later by the surgeon himself but at during surgery he did the dissolvable stitches and now I have this scar on my face
I have 2 moles on my face - one next to my eye, and one on my eyelid. My dermatologist cut out moles on my back several years ago and they turned into keloids. Even after several steroid shots, I still have a red bump on my back (larger than the original mole). Is it safe to remove the moles on my face, or can it also result in an incurable keloid scar? Also, is there any other less risky method of removing - like freezing?
Which procedure is the best for mole removal from the jaw? With minimum to no scarring. I am scared if I get the cut and stitch procedure I might scar since I am easily prone to keloids on my body. Please help.
I had my mole on the right cheek near my laugh line since I was younger. It has gotten bigger and more elevated as I get older. My Dermatologist suggested for me to see a Plastic Surgeon to get it remove for minimal scarring. I'm a 19yr old girl who has two rather large raised moles on my chest that I have had since I was young. I want to get them removed (via a shave excision) but am worried that it will be replace possibly by a keloid scar that could be bigger and more unattractive! What are the chances of getting a keloid?
