If there is any scarring or pigmentation following the removal, your dermatologist can treat those conditions as well. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
A shave excision is typically the easiest, most cost effective, and least likely to scar method of removal especially if you are prone to keloids. With this method the mole is actually "shaved off" at a level just below the surface of the skin. Dermatologic surgeons typically do this procedures expertly.
Hello and thank you for your question. If you are prone to keloid development, then that risk is present with surgical procedures as well, including mole removal. I recommend a consultation by a board certified dermatologist for evaluation of your skin and discussion of appropriate treatment. Best of luck.
