Depressed scar and keloid after mole removal - how to treat it? (Photos)

Question

I've received this keloid and at the same time depressed scar from mole removal. The scar is fresh and I want to start treating it asap. What disturbs me the most is the keloid. Any suggestions?

Keloid scars are characterized by their growth potential and increased degree of inflammation within the skin. Unlike non-inflamed scars, keloids have the potential for growth beyond the original footprint of injury. You have several different options for scar removal.  I would start with a product containing silicone such as Biocorneum.  Other options include injections of kenalog or surgical excision of the scar. Lasers such as the Elos Sublative can also be helpful.  No matter what you decide, don’t forget sunscreen everyday.
