In July 2021, I had an umbilical hernia surgery. This was done with a stitch, not mesh. Recovery was good, but it always felt tight in the area. Approx five months ago I began experiencing severe pain, swelling, tenderness, & the area was warm to the touch. I went back to the surgeon thinking perhaps the hernia returned, but a CT scan showed that was not the case. He believed it was scar tissue but couldn't help. What can I do to break up this scar tissue?
Mayo repair of 5mm umbilical hernia 3 years ago, still experiencing chronic pain from the excess scarring and/or sutures. The surgeon who did this wont help. Can anyone? Can hard lumps of scar or sutures be removed with minimal impact or just disaster? Miscommunication when 4 small Ethibond #1 sutures were used but I thought they would be absorbable. I know its not necessary but it would mean a lot to me to have them removed for the principle of proper consent anyways. Non-smoker, Male, 180lb.
I had umbilical hernia repair 12 days ago, bandages are off, and dissolvable stitches are still in my belly button but now I realize my surgeon put sutures inside my belly button, under the skin. It's very painful. I'm a stomach sleeper and the pinching & squeezing of the sutures is uncomfortable. My navel skin is tight/red. No other swelling or hardness but my belly button is hard, thick & pink. I realize this might be residual swelling but this is being full, activity, and sleeping painful.
I had laparscopic umbilical surgery nearly 4 weeks ago with I 5 incisions and have terrible pain by above belly button to the left side near the suture of the larges incision. I have pulling ripping pain. And burning pain and sensitive skin in that area for many hours after a bowel movement. I feel like something is terribly wrong but my doctor says I have to wait for six weeks before he will do a scan.
Three weeks ago I had my THIRD umbilical hernia repair surgery. This time performed robotically with mesh placed. I have had diahrrea every day about 6-7 times a day starting one week after surgery. Also, a pulling pain started last night where hernia was repaired and mesh placed. I could barely sit up last night without help due to the pain and the repair area skin was very hot. I don't have any redness or other symptoms of infection.
hi I am currently 2 weeks post laroscopic inguinal hernia repair with mesh it was done using the keyhole method and mesh was used I'm just wondering how long it take for the pain to subside, both at the site of the hernia and the discomfort across the lower abdomen which I am guessing is caused by the use of the tools any advice is welcome and thanks in advance
The first surgery year ago and the dr inserted a mesh.months later i was in pain and i finally found another surgeon to remove the mesh.the mesh was infected.3 months later the hernia came back. This same dr who took out the mesh now glued and stitched my hernia.week later i developed a seroma which required another surgery and a drain .3 weeks since the last surgery and my stomach turned black and blue and my belly button started to bleed. saw the dr and he closed up my wound by cuatherising it.

I had an epigastric hernia repair under a local anaesthetic that didn't work due to me having Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Since the surgery not only have I acquired a large/medium hematoma below and above the incision site I have a very large bulge to the lower right of my abdomen which keeps flaring up causing me pain. Is this normal? I'm yet to go back to the Drs due to my inability to drive yet. Many thanks
