Had umbilical hernia repair w/sutures only for small hernia in 2019. Since then, am not able to breath properly if I stand up straight/feel pressure on my lungs and stomach. 6y after this surgery, I have been diagnosed lumbar scoliosis/facety arthropathy. Back pain is constant, esp with activity. Has severely limited my QoL/activity.I had .5 cm hernia so surgery was elective & have constant abdominal air-pressure/tightness. My stomach. &diaphragm feel constricted. Remove sutures to help?
Hi. I had umbilical hernia repair a little over a year ago an earlier this year started having fluid and blood leaking from navel off and on. Went back to surgeon and he said that he couldn't see anything & that day it was draining bad. The PA and nurse saw it. Surgeon used mesh. It's a dark area in the middle of navel. Also for last few months when my menstrual cycle comes on my navel bleeds and drain more. Smell is really awful then. Have to keep cleaning navel off & on.
Around 16 years ago I had a diastasis recti hernia repaired. The doctor said it was relatively small but he put the wire mesh just to be safe. Well Im now pregnant, and an MRI showed my wire mesh is from rib to hip across my ENTIRE abdomen. Im not sure why? How concerning is this revelation? We just moved and Im waiting to see a new doctor but at our previous residence no local doctor had an answer for how concerned I should be. Do I need/have options?
I developed an incisional hernia 1.5 years after sleeve surgery. Defect 2.4 cm 7.3 x 4.1 x 5.2. I have lose hanging abdominal skin. Im afraid after H surgery my belly will be uneven -a hot mess. Is it advisable/possible to have the hernia repaired by a plastic surgeon and do a TT at the same time?
Since giving birth 2.5 years ago, i have an umbilical hernia and what i believe to be severe diastasis recti. I look lumpy and disfigured. But my real concern is that I'm in constant discomfort. My abdomen and back are always miserable. I also experience incontinence when doing any vigorous exercise. I cant imagine living like this forever but have read that insurance wont cover the muscle repair. What are my options
