I am five weeks post open rhinoplasty. I had a tension nose with a pronounced hump and droopy tip. Everything has gone very well, and I was extremely pleased upon removal of the cast, splints, etc... At that time, my hump was gone, the front and sides of my nose were very smooth, and my tip no longer drooped. However, over the last couple of weeks I have developed bumps on both sides of my nose - on the right side just next to my eye, and on the left side a little lower than my eye. The bump on the left is fairly significant and hard. It makes my nose look crooked - similar to Owen Wilson's nose. I realize that it can take up to a year to achieve final results. My surgeon has been great, but his response to my bumps is 'we will just wait and see'. However, I need to know if this is common and how likely these bumps are to go away. People are even starting to comment that my nose looks crooked. Please share your experiences with me, so that I have some idea of what I am dealing with. Is this likely part of the healing process, or should I be concerned?Thank you,Nancy
I had primary rhinoplasty about 7 months ago. Already at the one-month mark, I noticed irregularities on the bridge and flagged it to my surgeon. He said it would smooth out, but it hasn't, so last week I got steroid injections, however ever since then the bumps are looking worse and much more prominent than a week ago. I'm very concerned and not sure what's going on. Could it be scar tissue, a callus. Will rasping solve this?
Hello. I had a rhinoplasty end of october 2023. Ive noticed two halfish pea sized bumps on the bridge. One at the highest part of the bridge and one about mid bridge. My procedure was hump removal, tip reconstruction, side narrowing and a deviated septum fix. The bumps are semi centred but more to where the deviated part was. Will these bumps be swelling? Or is it my bone healing in a way that makes it look like i have a hump again?
Hi , I have very bad uneveneee almost 3 years after rhinoplasty. One side looks perfect. The other side looks terrible , especially when seen in certain lights. I did have very thick skin my doctor said. Is there a chance that this is swelling? Or is this how it will remain? Y Ive also hittin a red Extremley hard bump on the uneven side, and the entire tip is still fully hard. Please help.
I had my rhinoplasty 2 years ago to correct a dorsal hump. Around 6 months ago I've noticed a bump on the bridge of my nose that wasn't there for the first year + following my surgery. I have recently lost about 20 pounds but other than that there have been no other health changes. Do I have to go through another rhinoplasty to have this fixed? And if so, will the bump keep returning? The surgeon that performed the surgery has retired.
I had Rhinoplasty a last year. should be shorter and the tip of the nose should be more up there are bumps on my nose side that I did not have before. are all that normal? the doctor said that can happen sometime
I'm 38, had rhinoplasty +septoplasty exactly 3 years ago with a well renown surgeon in my area who only specializes in nose jobs. After 3 years and 9 steroid shots, my nose is still very crooked due to lots of scar tissue and multiple firm bone-like bumps. My Dr. is saying my nose looks great as the bones are straight, I just have lots of calluses and scar tissue. Can this be true? PS: He is offering free revision to file off bumps, but for scar tissue he suggests to keep doing shots.
Hello! Im five months post op from an open rhinoplasty I had done in Istanbul. While I love my new nose, as the swelling was going down I noticed a spot of hypopigmentation and bumps along my bridge about two months ago. I consulted with my surgeon and asked him if the hypopigmentation was caused by the kenalog injection I received. He said no because they dont inject in that region, but I believe that did. I was advised to visit dermatology in two months. Will this go away on its own??
I am currently 4 weeks post open rhino. My nose is still very swollen and the most swelling seems to be in my nostrils, tip and colemellar section. As the incision scars heal ive notice a hard white bump forming on the columellar scar. No pain or drainage just unsightly. I brought my concern to my plastic surgeon and he said to wait it out another month but that he has never had such a case. I am using bio oil scar treatment currently, other creams/oils i should be using? is this common?
I am 6 months out from a preservation rhinoplasty where my surgeon used fascia from my scalp to smooth out the contours of my nose. I am now beginning to see an inverted V deformity and my originial bumps showing through. Could I have caused this? I had multiple deaths in my family & cried & drank too much. I also used a supplement called Neprinol that Im worried ate the fascia used to smooth my bumps. My doctor is so talented so I have to believe I caused this.
