My breast reduction surgery is in a couple of weeks however I've been in need of this surgery for quite some time. I tried going through insurance about 3 years ago and was denied due to not enough documentation and was quoted $10,000.00 by Dr. Pike with Scott & White which left me feeling helpless. I'm now at at point in my life that I just can't take it anymore and it's impacting my life and health. I decided to go in for another consultation with my mind made up that if it were going to cost me less than $6,000 that I would pay for this out of pocket. I reached out to to plastic surgeon that my GYN recommended 3-4 years ago, I had my consultation, he answered my questions and now I have set my date for March 26th, 2015. Dr. Craig Staebel has an office located in Georgetown, TX and will be the surgeon performing my breast reduction. His outcome of others is impressive and I can't wait for my own. This will be a new lease on life for me. I'll be able to do things without my breast interfering or impairing my life.

good luck with your up coming surgery I am 4 months post op and it is honestly the best thing that I ever did and like most women I don't know why I waited so long, any doubts you have will be gone as soon as u see your new breasts, the scaring is minimal and I don't even notice them anymore, I am looking forward to the summer take it easy for 2 weeks after, slowly get back to normal life I have only just got back to the gym which I needed having put a couple of pounds back on which is something I don't want to happen after getting into good shape before the surgery. Good luck hope all goes really well and you are as happy as I am.

Good luck to you and congrats on your decision. I paid out if pocket as well because of the stupidness of insurance companies. It will be the best money you spent I wish I would have done my procedure years ago. If you have any questions let me know and good luck with your surgery.

Have you tried again with insurance? In addition to all of the Drs docs send any massage or chiropractic records. Bras fitted and purchased and write a letter. It can't hurt. It helped me. I was finally approved on my third appeal. Had surgery feb 18 and YES I feel a difference!
