After my two caesarean pregnancies, my tummy...
WORTH IT
After my two caesarean pregnancies, my tummy looked pretty bad. I had my first TT in April 2014 however the results were not great as I had a lot of skin laxity into upper abdomen left.
Had my revision in April this year and this time the results were excellent. Still a little lax in the upper abdomen which I now understand is my problem area and is due to my anatomy. I look flatter and feel nice and taute when I bend forward and I'm very pleased. It was worth going through this procedure twice to get a better end result.

Hi Sheila, I'm really intrigued as to how your tummy looked with your first tuck...you say there was a lot of laxity in the skin above bb so does that mean you just had a mini done and left with your bb not a new one? And this time have you had a full tt to sort the skin issue out? The reason I ask is because I have just had a mini tt and the laxity in the skin above my bb is so awful I'm wondering how it will ever get better without being pulled taught Properly. My ps has said I need to let everything settle for 3 months before we look at doing anything which I understand. She didn't recommend a full tt as I didn't have excess skin and not much elasticity in my lower skin either so would have been left with a vertical scar as well as hip to hip. However I did say I'd deal with the scar and if she thought bb needed to be moved to do it. She thought it didn't but it's clear that it should have been. What's not helped is that I had lipo on abdomen too so obviously the fat before was helPing the loose skin look much less wrinkly. I am super happy with my hernia and muscle repair, my lipo results and my scar but the middle of my tummy lets everything down so much. Sorry for the essay!! You are the first person I've commented on on here. I've been too paranoid to put anything up! I am also from UK so been looking up the UK girls doing this. Just wanted to hear your story a bit more and know whether I need to prep myself for potentiLly doing this again....which I can't bear the thought of. Thank you for any comments xx

Ah hi love! Sorry to hear your concerns. I'm kind of in the middle of doing this review and will add some pics soon so you can see. Basically I had my first TT last year and after 6 months my surgeon said that he felt the results were below average and the only way to try and rectify that wobbly upper abdomen issue was to redo the whole thing again. I asked if I could have their vertical scar to pull in that area but I was told the scar would be very unsightly and it wasn't recommend. I suffer with keloid scars too so it would've been awful if I'd done that. It was a daunting thought having to go through all that again with those damn drains again but after taking some time to consider my options and chat it through with hubby, we felt I should go for it again.
My first tummy tuck was not a mini one, it was a full TT. I had a new bb too.
If you've just had your TT, it is best to wait for 6 months to let everything settle down including the swelling and bruising, you'll get a better picture then. When I had my second TT, I did worry that I too didn't have enough skin to pull down again especially after I saw the markings on my tummy minutes before surgery, however surgeon said I did.....thank goodness! Yes I know what you mean about lipoing the upper abdomen, my surgeon wouldn't do this as he said it would leave the area baggy and wrinkly which seems you have a little of :-(
No worries, I've never written a review before and don't chat much on here either, I always look to read other UK postings as I can relate to them better. Do you think you may want to put a photo up? Just eliminate your face part and no need to be paranoid. We all have issues with our surgery, it's pretty normal.
If you are unhappy I would completely recommend doing it again, I have and only this week my surgeon said to me he was glad that I put myself through it again as the results are better than fantastic!!! :-) You will be fine sweetie, your body can take it. I've had four cosmetic surgeries in 2 years and I'm good. I would do more in the future if I needed to. I'm the biggest scaredy cat ever btw, even after 2 caesarean's! I will post my pics once I've figured how to do it. Keep in touch and let me know what you think. Happy to help you through this xxxx

Hey thanks so much for reply! Wow your new tum Defoe looks fab, you must be over the moon and still only early days. I realise if it looks good soon after it can only get better. Am scared to put a pic up In case everyone says I need it re done! I don't want to hear that! But understand what you say, I'm sure it would be fine as wouldn't be as painful as having all the muscles sewn together again which is probs worst bit, well that and lipo. Didn't realise you had full tt first as well gah what a pain. I can see some laxity under your bb but above doesn't look too bad...but you know what it's like in real life obviously as pics can't always do justice.
It's amazing how important a bb is really! We take it for granted as all have one!! Everything looked great with my bandage on although I did think it looked wrinkly above. Where I also had a belly piercing for first preg that left the skin dodgy so that doesn't help either. Ok will try and put a pic up of before and after :0 Hope your feeling ok today, your standing v straight considering you had a full tt!

How you feeling now your over the worst of it really aren't you? Any drugs to take or pain not so bad now? And how's your swelling doing, interesting we all hang on to it in diff places it seems! Does bb feel strange afterwards like it doesn't belong there at all? Or is it just sore from the stitching I guess. Lots of questions as per!! Have a fab day xx

Hi sweetie! I'm 6 weeks next Tuesday so really excited that the worst of it is over. Still swollen though, that unfortunately hangs around for ages :-(. I feel fine in myself. I didn't take many painkillers once I was home from the hospital. Didn't take the ones they gave me in hospital much and hid them as I wasn't in pain, did tell them but was still given them, lol. So now I have absolutely no pain from incision, lipo or bb. Still swollen every afternoon without fail but just used to it now. I get it most in my upper abdomen as usual, think I must have visceral fat which pushes my stomach out and makes the top part look big at times. My bb feels fine, no probs there, I can feel it but can't feel anything directly underneath it, feels kind of rubbery and strange. How are you doing today and how many days post op are you? Hey glad to hear your out of the woods re pain etc it's nice not to have to take the drugs and rely on them....but nice for when really needed Obvs. I had Physio today to loosen up the hardness after lipo so she gave me a good pummelling ESP down near scar where it's just so hard and uneven. She managed to move it a bit but just said the scar tissue is super hard and swelling not going through as easily as on the right side. So will keep going to see her once a week to see if it helps flatten it out. It's near on as swollen in am as it is to pm. Everything else feels ok, lipo scar one side bit painful when pummelled and when my hubby slapped me on the ass the other day!!! Otherwise ok. I'll be 4 weeks on weds. Hoping by 8 weeks might see slight change in pics.... Am dying to do some exercise too so will start doing some 5k walks once dr says ok! Xx

May 18, 2015
Wow, you get physio too?? Lucky devil. I expect that really helps soften up the tissues after that aggressive lipo we all got!! The weeks go quick don't you think? I'm six weeks tomorrow. I'm starting my exercise on Wednesday, just going to get on the treadmill for 20 mins to begin with. I've been eating really healthy but without the exercise I still feel a bit lardy!! Lol
How are you today? Have you noticed any change in your belly button? [RS bleep]

Oh by the way, have you heard about lymphatic drainage massage? Suppose to be good for reducing swelling dramatically but you must ask your surgeon when you can have it, maybe months rather than weeks. I will check too :-) xx
May 19, 2015
Hey, yes Physio is part of the package, only 3 mind so last one next week, but if it helps will get a few more. And yes I was wondering about lymphatic drainage massage too, will put that on list of questions to ask when I see her next!
Time has gone quite fast now looking back, I can't believe it's a month tomorrow, crazy. No change in Bb grrrrr I keep laying over in my head what on earth she can do to sort without going under!! She did sort a friends bb out I clinic ade a few snips and looked lies better so fingers bloody crossed.
Good for you on treadmill!! Can't wait to start running and doing weights again! I've been trying to eat well and not booze.... So hard! Let me know how the exercise goes, good luck!!

You look great! Did you lose any weight in between your surgeries? Your stomach is so flat now. Awesome results!

May 28, 2015
Hey thanks!!! I did not lose any weight at all, I kept the same throughout the year before my second tt surgery. My tum is quite flat now and I work hard to keep it that way!! Lol [RS bleep]

Did the same doctor do the revision?

May 27, 2015
Yes it was :-) I think most tts could benefit from being done in two stages if the first one isn't that great. Are you having a revision?

May 27, 2015
If you click on my profile you will see my dilemma. I do t like my current results so I think I need another TT. Completely! Not sure if same doc should do it or not. He's nice and friendly but if it wasn't done right the first time I wasn't sure about letting him do it again. Did you have to pay full price for second/revision?

May 27, 2015
Okay I will have a look. I waited for a year before getting my second tt. The whole procedure was redone but no muscle repair this time and with the same surgeon. No I did not need to pay. It's a hard decision to go through it all again but for me I think it was the best thing to do. It's a hard recovery as usual but the days soon pass.
