Abdominoplasty Revision: Folks, There is Indeed Hope!

I don't have a tendency to write reviews, but for this man I feel it's my duty to write a thousand-star one.

A good friend of mine, and patient of Dr. Minniti, has recommended him to me for an abdominoplasty revision. She had the same surgery with him. Her results? Nothing short of stunning. And she had a hard case.

I liked what I heard. I liked what I saw. However, because I had gone through a whole drama after previous surgeries with another doctor, my skepticism lead me to do some further research, before deciding who my surgeon would be.

I've literally stalked Dr. Minniti for a full year haha! I've spend hours looking at his instagram page, website, YouTube interviews, and Realself reviews. I've also enjoyed the adorable posts about his two adopted Pitbulls.

His passion, knowledge, thoroughness, energy, and charisma are intoxicating. His hands seem to be like two magic wands - each one of his results seemed perfect to me. I've become enchanted by his talent.

I then decided to go for a three-thousand-mile trip to have an in-person consultation with him. Besides very charming, most importantly, Dr. Minniti is a realist. A man who does not make promises nor sugarcoat things. At the same time, I still left with the impression that he does deliver perfection, or at least that was how I felt after spending almost one hour talking to him.

I've had also consulted with another highly qualified Beverly Hills' surgeon, but decided that Minniti should be the man. Because he does have this one thing that is not taught at med school: empathy. That for me was the cherry on top.

Six months later, I was scheduled for a full abdominoplasty, including muscle repair and S.A.F.E lipo 360 (full back, tummy, flanks, plus bra line & hips). He also mentioned to be using the H.D. technique for the lipo in certain areas, to help improving the several irregularities I had left from liposuction performed by my previous surgeon.

I flew to Los Angeles a couple days before my surgery. During my pre-op consultation, Dr. Minniti's wonderful assistant, Ariana, has mentioned to have booked for me a room at a recovery facility for the first night after my surgery. I agreed with no issues. But later that night, I read some reviews from those folks that made me uncomfortable, so I went ahead and canceled on them (I felt I'd be more safe by having two friends taking care of me at my hotel room).

That scheduled abdominoplasty was a major surgery. On the top of it, in my mind there was still vestiges from emotional trauma caused by previous surgeries that went wrong. I was nervous. So nervous that I didn't realize that by canceling the recovery center I was questioning Dr. Minniti’s judgement. At the morning of my surgery Dr. Minniti strongly insisted that I should rebook the room at that recovery facility. And thank God, I did it so. A full abdominoplasty involving muscle repair and so much liposuction is no joke - I absolutely needed all the care received by the highly qualified nurses at Pearl Recovery & Retreat Wellness. And under no circumstance my friends were qualified to take care of my needs during that first night.

As life is all about living and learning, that was my lesson of the day. At the end, we are all just humans - one day or another we all will make a mistake. But this is a mistake I'm sharing publicly, with hopes to save others from the bad that could've happened to me that night. I'm lucky to be in the hands of a wonderful human being, who is just as concerned with his patients as he would be with a family member. Please guys, listen to your doctors.

I'm now only a few days post-op. As usual, final results do not tend to show before six to nine months after surgery. However, I'm not concerned. My pictures speak for themselves. I will surely be updating this review as time goes. Good luck with your journeys and God bless you all.

Should I still say I recommend Dr. Minniti? ... :-)

Did you pay 40,000 for tt revision???

I did. I know it is a load of money. But then, it is a load of work for the surgeon too. As far as I understand from my readings and research I've done, a revision requires way more time, pacience, and thought from the surgeon. Fixing lipo irregularities requires creativity, thoroughness, and an incredible amount of time from the revision surgeon. I had all kinds of iregularities, including a bulge over my incision that, if I'm not mistaken, is one of your concerns as well (I briefly read your TT review). Dr. Minniti had to revise liposuction with irregularities all over my tummy, all over my back, and also all around my hips (my waistline was literally looking squared, instead of proportionally curved). He had to remove a ton of loose skin that my previous Dr. didn't - really, he had to sculpt me from scratch. He had to correct my diastasis recti, that again, my previous surgeon didn't. He had to deal with a large incision by performing a full tummy tuck, versus a mini one that previous dr. performed. He takes his times on the stitching job as well - after healing one can barely see his scars. He spent almost 6 hours operating on me. I've heard stories from his nurses saying that at times they've seeing him even dripping sweat, leaving the operating room after finishing liposuction procedures - lipo is one of the hardest and more tedious procedures to be performed by a surgeon - it depends entirely on the hands of the dr (it has nothing to do with the technique or type of lipo performed, but it has to do with the expertise of the surgeon and how much time he/she is willing to spend performing it). Furthermore, Dr. Minniti even called my previous surgeon to ask specific questions about my belly button (he wanted to correct it as much as he could so wanted to know exactly what was done previously). No surgeon takes the time to call your previous surgeon to ask those type of questions. This man put his heart and soul at what he does. And that costs money. I spent years saving to pay for this revision because I knew it would be expensive.

To perform a TT at someone who has not have any plastic surgery previously is way easier, since the surgeon works in a skin with no irregularities to fix nor other issues. Unfortunately, I had not research enough before my first surgery so ended up in the hands of a surgeon that did not put as much effort on my surgeries and things went just wrong - I wish I knew better. But all in all, I'm over the moon with my results now. I do not want to spend more time looking back at the bad decisions I previously made. I'm very happy to finally have found a solution to my issues - it's been causing me serious emotional damage for years. I'm glad I'm finally done with it.

Rio is the Best Massage Therapist for a Post Tummy Tuck Procedure

I'd like share my experience with Rio, the massage therapist at Dr. Minniti's office. Her hands are the best ones that have ever touched my body after a cosmetic procedure.

As far as I have noticed, it is not too dificult to find massage therapists available to help us after plastic surgery. However, it is indeed difficult to find a good one. In fact in 2019, after having a mini-tummy tuck procedure elsewhere, I had scheduled several lymphatic massages with someone right after my drains were off. The lady told me at our first session that she had to touch my incision to help it to heal better. I trusted her and let her do it. But right after she started manipulating it, I started to feel pain and asked her to stop. She did it. But it was then too late - I immediately noticed a red mark over the point she touched that wasn't there before. Months later, I had a terrible keloid showing at that spot - my scar healed terribly and looked horrible and that stayed permanent (until recently, before I've passed through the hands of wonderful Dr. Minniti, who has just corrected it).

Rio has wonderful hands. The level of pressure she uses to manipulate the body is just perfect. She knows where to touch you and how to do it. She is also a lovely person, I will miss conversations we've had.

I've just had a major procedure involving a full abdominoplasty, muscle tightening, and lipo in many areas. I've been in quite some pain, but after starting my lymphatic massages with Rio, lots of my swollen have dissipated and I feel much lighter.

After such an aggressive procedure, our bodies are in such vulnerable state, that having a highly qualified massage therapist helping us, becomes a must, and that is Rio! So kudos for her - I highly recommend her for your post op needs. If you are local from Beverly Hills, or like me, who came from another state but stayed around a couple of weeks to recover, remember to take advantage of these lymphatic massages with Rio. I can't recommend her enough.

One Month Post-op Update

Healing well and as expected. This has been a painful recovery though, but expected as the surgery itself involves aggressive manipulation of the body. Dr. Minniti uses layers of stitches while attaching the skin back to the abdomen, before he closes up the final tuck incision. I couldn't believe he is that thorough, I remember me thinking while we talked during my our consultation. I've never heard of another surgeon bothering himself with an extra step like this while performing an abdominoplasty surgery. Of course, it makes the recovery a bit more painful, but that will help to better adhere the skin to the tummy - everything will be tightened up in a way that greatly improves the appearance of our abdomen, especially in situations like for example, when we are seated. And that my friends... is PRICELESS :)
A few pictures of my progress are attached. I'll keep updating. God bless you all!
