I've had a few surgeries all open. I had irregularities on my bridge and thin skin as a consequence. I hit my nose on my bridge and it made the bump/irregularity stand out even more. It's not bone but cartlidge (septum or graft or both). I recently met with some docs. One mentioned going in closed and gently shaving the high ridge and then using fascia. My question is this procedure safe even though I have grafts in my nose and have has a few surgeries. Thanks!
I was punched in the nose and Im a candidate for a septoplasty. Severe valve collapse. 100% on one side and 70% on the other. In addition, it caused a dorsal hump on my nose that actually hurts me. When I breathe, it feels like that cold/sore sensation in that area which also causes headaches all the time. I know insurance doesnt cover it, but am I looking at thousands of dollars to shave the hump? Do I have a pinched look nose also? It also leans towards the left now some.
I am a having septorhinoplasty next month. My nose is littke big with a bump, the surgeon said he will shave the bump as my skin seems thin. As it is a septorhinoplasty will my nose change ? I'm worried by shaving the bump it's going to look no different at all. Is there any pictures of it being shaved I can see as I can't find any and a clear idea
I had a septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and two bone spurs shaved down two years ago. I'm having difficulty breathing still, dryness and pain at times. I'm looking to refine my tip of my nose, and address these issues from my first surgery, what can be done ?
I know it takes a year + to see final results, but it's been 8 months and my nose looks like this since 4 months post op. I had one side shaved down a little to match the other and nothing else touched. I had one steroid injection done as well. I still see that there is swelling but the side that has been shaved is the one sagging. I addressed my concerns to my surgeon but he said we'll see in 3 months. Is this normal or does it look like I'll need revision done later on? Thank you.
HELP!!!! Right nostril collapsed so I had surgery to fix it and they shaved bone down also. While under they noticed these things in left nostril which required burning them off. Which was never something discussed till after which is to late. My issue and concerns is how crooket it looks now on the left. Is it swollen or something needs to be fixed on left to Make look better. It never was like this before and now I am so upset.
I am planning to see an ear, nose, throat specialist regarding a Septoplasty. This procedure is covered by my provincial health insurance. Could I ask the doctor to shave this small bump off my nose too? or is it possible to add this for a fee? if so, what would the range be? btw, the bump is more apparent in person/video. My low res phone camera fuzzes it.
