Hi, I'm currently 1 year and 4 months post op rhinoplasty. Sometimes I will wake up with my face pressed into the pillow, I understand everything is fully set in place by now but can accidentally smushing it around into the pillow while I sleep do any damage? I'm usually pretty good about sleeping on my back but sometimes when I sleep on my side I still get super worried and I'm scared I could accidentally put too much pressure on it while I sleep and break it. Thanks!
I had rhinoplasty done in 2019, and after that, my swelling had reduced a lot by mid-2020. Now, when I sleep, there is congestion in my nose, and it blocks my nose, due to which my swelling is increasing. If I do not sleep for 2 days, the swelling will start decreasing, but if I sleep, the swelling will increase the next day. And earlier, when I used to wake up from sleep, I used to notice less swelling. I feel very bad seeing my face, and I stay at home; I don't even go out. I feel SAD.
Sleeping position after septorhinoplasty. I often find myself waking up with my nose buried into my pillow. Can this cause structural damage to my nose? I am also 2 years post septorhinoplasty. Thank you
40 yo male, septo-rhinoplasty 2 years ago with turbinoplasty on left and turbinectomy on right of inferior turbinates. Primary issue has been right nostril with congestion and blockage day/night. During the day, somewhat better, use saline rinses/nasal dilator. Night time, nothing helps, right nostril is completely blocked 4 hours into sleep significantly affecting quality of sleep. Could above scenerio be a combo issue with turbinate and inner nasal valve? What would the remedy entail?
I want a nose job, but Im worried about damaging my nose in the months after surgery while I sleep. Even if I try sleeping on my back, I always wake up on my side or stomach with my face in the pillow. This is obviously not good to do after a nose job. I live alone, so no one could move me if I were to put my face to the pillow. How do people prevent this? Would I be able to wear a cast while I sleep for the first few months after surgery?
I am about to do rhinoplasty and my biggest fear is my sleep situation. I cant fall asleep fast. Also when I sleep, I move a lot. (that might be due to my vivid dreams :)). I am really worried that I will hit my nose by accident while sleeping unconsciously. My questions are: - How do I make sure that I dont move while I am sleeping? (I am not conscious when I am moving) - Are there any certain sleep meds that I should ask my surgeon to prescribe me so that I sleep without moving a lot?
I've just had rhinoplasty a few days ago and want to know if I can sleep on the side of my face, albeit at 45 degrees? Because this sleeping directly on the back of my head is killing me. It's so painful, it feels like someone slap a board against my skull and it also leaves me face swollen for some reason. Please advise.
I had my rhinoplasty a week and two days ago. I literally cannot sleep unless I'm on my side. I'm 99% sure I'm not touching my nose against anything in my sleep I have been sleeping on my sides on and off for the past 5 days. Will this alter my final results of my procedure?
Ive been trying to sleep upright and on my back to prepare for what is expected after surgery, but I am really struggling. Ive tried reclining chairs, propping pillows around my body, using an airplane pillow, etc. However, I always wake up part way through the night in pain. I think I can handle being propped up on my side, but not my back. How much will this impact my recovery? Also, I will be off for a month after my surgery. Would it benefit me to keep my splint on for more than a week?
