I had double jaw surgery 15 months ago and it changed my nose. I already had a tiny nose but now its wider, slightly upturned and shows more nostril. I feel like it throws off the balance of my face but not sure if i just have to get used to it? My philtrum appears longer now but when i look at before and after jaw surgery, it seems its my nose thats mostly the issue. I dont think im a good candidate for a lip lift to shorten philtrum length because of the angle of my nose. Thoughts?
I am 42 years old, have never had any facial work done and have recently noticed that when I smile I have a very noticable horizontal fold or raised pouch of skin beneath my nose that measures about 1-1/2 long. What could cause this and more importantly, are there any non-surgical ways to lessen or get rid of it?
27F, no previous history of any treatments, surgery, etc. I've always had this extra bit of what feels like cartilage where the bottom of my nose meets the philtrum/upper lip area. Since it doesn't touch the main parts of a rhinoplasty and it's such a small area, I'm wondering if there's a relatively simple solution for it and what a cost and recovery expectation might be. Thank you!
I will be undergoing septorhinoplasty because of also slightly croked bridge of the nose to the side and probably drooping columella. Unfortunatly I have full lips and short philtrum, wchich causes chin to philtrum ratio of 3:1 and midface ratio of 1:1,1 and nasolabial angle of less than 90 facial convexity of 180* . I'm afraid that putting incisors more outwards as they should be will cause philtrum to be even shorter and upper lip fuller. What should be done to improve looks of my face.
So I would like to get radix grafting to vertically lengthen my nose from the front but also would more tip projection. Many other patients want to reduce tip dropping, but I actually want to KEEP my tip drooping so that my philtrum doesn't appear longer after surgery. I am worried that getting cartilage on the tip and bridge will stiffen it up too much. I appreciate any assistance!
i'm 25 and i got the surgery at almost 24 yearsold. it's been a year and my nose looks wide at the bridge and from the side my philtrum looks more flat and less curved compared to before. i think my nose looks too short for my face and it's not projecting as much. it's also tilting towards one side i think... and sth is poking out of my nostril which feels like cartilage but my doctor said it's scar tissue?? also is my anterior nasal spine shaved and can it be reversed?
I feel if my philtrum was any longer it would throw off my facial harmony and I would become self conscious of it. I don't think I could get a surgical lip lift due to having ehlers danlos and increased scarring due to that and I do not want to have to get consistent lip injections as an alternative. But my nostril size and the way it dips upsets me- especially side profile. I also want to address the bulbous tip.but really want to avoid upturned snub or Barbie nose as well. Is this possible?
