Three years ago I had an implant of cadaveric rib cartilage placed on the anterior right side of my septum to increase air resistance. I can feel the added volume when I touch the septum. Two years ago I began experiencing chronic burning pain on my right septum. Using a torchlight I noticed that the painful area has a spot of mucosa thats become thinner, less bulky, and whitish compared to the surrounding mucosa. Could the implant be causing these changes over time? What might be the cause?
Hi , ive had my nose job over a year. Everything went well swelling went i would say completely down i am happy with the result however , i have noticed this for a long time inside my nose i believe where the suture was done on the right side i have noticed that every time my nose runs for a longer period of time and its wet , that area towards the tip of my nose on the inside stings extremely bad , is this a cause of concern , and what causes this? Never noticed bleeding or anything.
I had a rhinoplasty 7 months ago. I have had constant pain in the small section behind my two front teeth. I have also noticed the pain increased and is directly connected to how much movement I have had in the tip of my nose. Surgeon said it could be a fungus however I am very certain is it not poor hygiene as again, the level of pain is always there ans increases or decreases with my nose sensitivity. I still have considerable swelling on the right side of my nose.
Hello, I am 16months post op and I am suffering from chronic congestion since my rhinoplasty, swell and pain. I am not in terrible pain all the time but when my nose is swollen it triggers the pain. Sometimes my nose is not swollen and even looks good. The cartilage grafts used are very uncomfortable to me and seem to be the reason why I am going through this, my question is : Is it common for grafts to become very stiff and painful in the cold ? To be outside for me in the winter is awful.
I have done a rib rhinoplasty and at the moment I can not live as a normal sport man. I want to fix myself. Is it possible to transplant rib cartilage to mine? Please help me if you have any information. Thank you in advance.
I have been experiencing a very odd painful (to touch) area on the right side of my nose ever since cast removal. This area has always been very tender, however has gotten better through the months and seems at a standstill now.My other side of my nose feels very solid, no pain, however the side and area circled seems almost slightly more squishy and painful when I press it. I love my nose aesthetically, and have no other problems. But Im wondering if this is a complication?
I had a septorhinoplasty 3 1/2 years ago. I had a rough go with lots of bruising, swelling, and pain. I have persistent pain on left side of my nose; sharp shooting pain starting at the top of my bridge and travelling down to my tip, and feelings of numbness in my tips. I have to take pain medication to alleviate some of the pain. My nose is now much wider and more bulbous than before the surgery. I have consulted revision experts but no one can figure out what happened. What could this be?
when i breathe through my nose i get a pain that feels kind of cold inside the upper left side of my nose. but when I push the soft bone part of my nose to the left and breathe, the pain goes away and it feels a lot more comfortable to breathe through my left nostril. the pain is where the hard bone of my nose is on the left side. (upper left side) This has given me head aches on my left side if i breathe through my nose too much.
I had the rhinoplasty last 2012. Went on without any pain. Then late 2016, I began experiencing facial pains, specifically on my nose, forehead, etc. daily. Ive been taking nerve pain meds since then to control the pain but i still feel some. I went to an ENT and he said my sinuses were very red (swolllen?). Dont know the cause. I had a CT scan and nothing there was the cause too. Now im thinking if the implant could be causing the pain? Maybe it has become infected? Thanks in advance.
Sometimes my nose gets very red too because of the pain. I went to an ENT doctor and he referred me to a neurologist. I won't be able to get into an appointment until the end of next month. I am taking pain meds for it, which offers some relief. My nose honestly feels broken. If the neurologist can't help me is there someone else who could?
