In some patients discomfort and pain you report is result of temporary injury of nasopalatine nerve in the course of rhinoplasty. In most cases it is due to postoperative swelling and will go away in time. Injection of corticosteroid in the area may decrease discomfort and pain significantly. After 25 years of performing rhinoplasty surgery, we have not seen any post-surgical infections that did not involve a nasal implant. Additionally, we have never seen a fungal infection of the nose after rhinoplasty surgery. Roof of mouth pain can be due to a nerve that sometimes goes through the floor of the mouth into the maxilla. Some things you can do to help with this is you can consider taking Vit B tablets and most of the time that pain from the nerve will come back but talk to your surgeon for further details. This nerve is called nasopalatine nerve.

That is very common after rhinoplasty exactly as you describe it. In my experience it always resolved with time. I would wait it out. It should get better with time

What you describe is not that unusual.
Much depends on what was actually done during the rhinoplasty procedure.
This is especially true if infracturing was involved.
