I had rhinoplasty, grafts and an osteotomy, done 4 months ago. One month in, I noticed that the right side of my nose was wider than the left. It wasn't easy to see but could definitely be felt. I went back to my doctor who had a look and said it could also be a blood clot that would resolve in time. The bump is still there and when I place some pressure on it now, I hear a clicking sound. Could it be that my bones have not set right? How long does it typically take blood clots to be resorbed?
I have found 2 board-certified plastic surgeons that I really like. One specializes in rhinoplasty and the other in lipo with fat transfer. Due to time constraints (Im only able to take 8 days off and live in another state), I wanted to do my lipo with fat transfer to breast on Day 1 and rhinoplasty on Day 2. I was told that if I was in good health, this wouldnt be an issue. What are your thoughts? Would this make me probe to clots during my rhino or other risks?
I've been cleaning my nose with a q-tip gently inside around the tip, typically with nasal saline spray diluted with hydrogen peroxide to clean up the dried blood / crusts. I went up a little high a couple times because there was a big blood clot.. I try to be careful and gentle but I was wondering if I could possibly be damaging anything? I haven't gotten any alarming pain, bleeding or anything. My Dr. didn't really mention a q-tip but he did say to rinse with nasal saline spray.
I have a nose full of hard dried blood clots. I cleaned the front of my nostrils, and looking at me directly you wouldn't be able to see any blood clots within my nose. But I feel them all in there! I use saline spray a few x/day, and i do use the ointment but I hate using it bc it's hard to breathe with it in your nose. I occasionally pick at some of the dried blood with a tweezer (*very gently though. It's like playing Operation! I try not to touch the sides or move my nose). that is okay?
I had my septorhinoplasty on August 19th. My left nostril has shrunk/ stopped draining blood, my right side has shrunk a little, theres a yellowish elastic (nurse said its the suture) sort of hanging off the side of my nose but it keeps draining blood and forms clots whenever I clean it. She said to keep cleaning it and changing the Gauze until it falls out on its own. Its never drained blood like this before. Is it okay for the nose to do this? called the clinic and thats what they told me.
I just had my cast removed after my closed procedure rhinoplasty and everything seemed great. In the evening, my nose started bleeding profusely. It continued for roughly 20 minutes until I was able to get it to calm with a cold compress. The bleeding also created really bad pressure in my sinuses (ears, nasal, and behind my eyes). Some pressure was relieved when I spat out a large clot. Should I be worried something is damaged or wrong? What do I do if it starts again?
I'm 10 days post-op internal rhinoplasty with no grafts/impants. There was a blood clot no deeper than the end of a q-tip, so I pulled it out with tweezers. No bleeding (to my knowledge) occurred and it didn't hurt. I can finally breathe from that nostril again, but now I'm really worried!
I had really bit blood clots in my nostrils, and I know it was ridiculously silly of me to pick at them but I couldn't stop myself. It was done very lightly and I made sure my hands were sanitised though. I have dissolvable stitches in, and they've gone very red/inflamed today. It's only day 5 so it might just be paranoia but it's the worst they've looked so far. I'm really worried I might have infected the incision... Is it worth seeing my surgeon about this? Or do they look normal? Thanks in advance.
I had serto/rhinoplasty surgery 5 weeks ago, but I still have very hard blood clots on my right side I saw my dr a week ago he said put Vaseline on q-tip then blow them out. I've been doing this and it's not working I've tried sneezing them out that's not working, what else can I do? It's putting pressure on my nose and it hurts
I had a rhinoplasty a 8 days ago, and the bandages were removed 2 days ago. Last night, I woke up feeling like I was drowning. It turns out, I had a blood clot in the back of my nose, and blood was just pouring out of my nose. I kept swallowing and the next morning, the effects of drinking blood definitely hit me. I pulled this out of my nose, and controlled the bleeding with Afrin. Today, I can feel the blood hardening at the side of my nose. What should I do to prevent a relapse?
