Hello, Im 34, female. Would I be a good candidate for alar rim lowering using ear or septum cartilage? Im interested in improving the triangularity of my nose by fixing alar retraction. How much of an improvement would alar rim grafts make?
I am a 38 year old male with a convex nose, ill-defined tip, and large, very visible nostrils. I also have a long philtrum and a slightly upturned nose, which could rule out reducing my columella (assuming this would accentuate my long philtrum). While Im sure the hump and tip could be refined, would it be possible to use alar rim grafts to reduce nostril visibility without shaving down the columella?
Fillers, cartilage craft, alar rim graft etc? I had a fibrous papule under my nose removed, at the top of my left nostril where the columella meets the soft tissue triangle. Ive lost a couple of millimetres of skin there as a result, which is more noticeable from a front on view (second pic). What would be the best treatment for this, out of a small filler injection or a very small cartilage graft? Ive been thinking of having a rhinoplasty anyway, could that be combined with an alar rim graft or soft tissue triangle graft?
I have naturally very tall nostrils so I was considering alar rim grafts. Im concerned, however, that I wont like them. If I dont, can they be removed? Will my nose be the same after theyre removed or will there be scar tissue or something like that making my nose look different?
I had an alar rim graft done on my left nostril because of uneven nostrils. 3 weeks after surgery, the nostril that was much higher is now much lower and seems more narrow. Is it normal for swelling after an alar rim graft to last more than 3 weeks. The unevenness is pretty big. People I know seems to notice and comment.
I had one consultation already where the doctor told me he would not do much to my columella but work mostly on my nostrils and take cartilage from my septum to bring my alar rims down. I started to do some research about alar retraction and it is mostly after a botched rhinoplasty. So many people have had revision rhinos to correct that issue and according to photos it seems okay for the first couple of months. After a while the alars (?) go back to the initial position. Is this common?
I had a rino with rib colummellar strut Since the first day after surgery the strut graft in the tip is displaced....the colummella is desviated to the left and i can touch the graft in the left nostril.can the strut colummellar outside more and more?It make me pain when i smile.when should to fix his position ?before six months is possible? It can displaced the alar grafts?
