I had a rhinoplasty to remove the hump on my nose over a year ago and the bump remained slightly so my doctor went back in to rasp under general anesthesia and now Im 3 months post-op and the bump looks bigger than it was before rasping. I thought by now, with my thin skin, the swelling would have gone down but is this permanent scarring? How can I get it to go away? I was recommended to not get steroid injectionsanything else work? Appreciate your help!
8 months ago I had a rhinoplasty with a solid rib graft. I have developed a bump on the top of the graft which is visible. I thought this would go over time however there has not been any improvement. The bump itself it quite hard and I suspect that it might be the graft which is too big and causing this. What are my options getting this resolved? Will I require a revision rhinoplasty or can this be rasped down?
Hello! I had a primary preservation rhinoplasty in May 2023. Pretty soon after, I had spring back of my bridge (confirmed by surgeron) that continued to get worse. My surgeon said this could be corrected with in office rasping, with local anesthesia. I am 5 weeks out from the procedure and worried because my nose looks worse. The bridge appears flatter and wider, the hump is still there, and now it looks crooked. Will I need a revision? Can I still get my expected results? Thank you!
Will rasping help get rid of scar tissue? Is it true that it will only look good for 1-2 months but then develop contour irregularities ? I have scar tissue that my doctor suggested shaving down however im concern it will be worse or come back. Or is a full revision best?
Dear doctors, after revision rhinoplasty where a small callus was grasped in a closed procedure with no osteotomies, how long afterwards should you not wear glasses? As a regular wearer of glasses I was wondering whether it was weeks or months.
I had rhinoplasty a year ago. I have a bump on my bone on one side that is visible. I can also feel a bump on the other side too but it is in a different location, making it not really visible or bothersome. The bump on the one side bothers me and creates weird light reflections and a shadow underneath it in certain lighting. I'm worried this is my actual bone and rasping will just do more damage. My doctor said rasping could leave me with a dent but is willing to do it. Is it a good idea?
I had 2 revision surgeries already. All were small changes that brought me closer to my ideal nose but I still feel my nose bridge is high and the radix starts too high. I want a more lowered nose bridge that has a scooped look. Would rasping be an option here or would I require another revision surgery? Would rasping affect the tip at all?
Hi I am nearly on my 6th month post asian rhinoplasty with Rib cartilage, and I am unsatisfied with the results. It has really affect my mental health, I am so embarrassed and self-conscious on my side profile. My nose radix appear too high and the bridge aswell. considering I have a small face and being asian, it does not balance at all. I am thinking of nose rasping to shave off too much graft? would it be less expensive? if so how much will it cost in Perth, WA?
My surgeon says he doesn't do it but that he has heard that it is a technique used by others. I'm wondering if this even works and if it is in fact a technique used to shave down the bone, or is rasping the only way?
38 year old female. Had rasping on left side for small bump 17 years ago. What can I do to improve my nose? I have a different profile from each side. One nostril is thicker and my cartilage deviates to that side more. Would it be considering revision to have another procedure done?
