I was told that punch excision plus dermabrasion would help a few of my icepick and boxcar scars. i had one scar done and now my scar is raised and red, more like a hypertrophic scar now. I had the scar excised about a month ago and had the dermabrasion done about 2 weeks ago. It is healed now but the redness and raised area makes it harder to cover with makeup than before. Should I jsut get more dermabrasion or is this not the right procedure for me?
Last pic shows my skin/treatment history (text). I was told by a board certified dermatologist just recently that any lasers like Profound RF or CO2 wont help with my scarring and texture and that he recommends excision for some of my scarring. But in my experience, the treatments Ive got in the last 12-15 months have helped my skin alot. Ive seen much worse cases online and their skin seems to respond really well to these treatments. Please help!
Hello doctors, I have a few depressed/atrophic scars on the sidewall of my nose (boxcar and rolling) that seem to be resistant to the previous treatments. Is it possible to to correct scars on this area of the nose? P.S I do not mind linear scars at all, id much rather have those than depressed scars. Please respond as i am at my wits end and these scars have caused so much distress in my life! Thank you.
I have (among other scars) a large circular boxcar scar featured prominently in the center of my forehead. Wondering if punch excision would be the best way to address this scar. I'm also considering CO2 and RF (ematrix), but I'm concerned that the marginal improvement with those devices will be inferior to simply cutting out the scar completely. On a side note, I also happen to have impressively large pores, so any tips there would be appreciated too. Thanks in advance.
About a month ago I had a deep mole remove on my chin via punch method. The incision is closed now (done with stitches). But ever since the removal theres been this tiny bump that seems fluid filled. If I press it, it flattens and then comes back. I want it to go away but not sure if I can do that on my own? My dermatologist seemed annoyed when I asked and didnt give me any real response. Is there anything I can do?
I have had an area of scarring for 5 years from picking at a reoccurring cyst. The scar flattens when stretched so I dont think its tethered. Ive had lasers, microneedling regularly, prp, and filler (which just lifted the whole area and didnt fill out the missing chunk of skin) . Botox helps slightly in the initial month after when brows are slightly lifted. I feel the only way to get rid of it now would be to have it surgically removed. Would z / w plasty or punch excision be a good option?
I have been getting CO2 laser sessions, but they don't work. My dermatologist is not increasing intensity as it can cause complications. I got Micro-needling once and got a terrible breakout after it. So, if I get micro-needling, I will have to stop treatment. Now, I have no idea what to do. Please help me with this. Things I think I can do: 1. Punch excision and Subcision 2. Micro-needling with low-dose isotretinoin 3. High frequency of CO2 (2 weeks apart) 4. Fillers and Mesobotox
Acute lip and chin larection injury occurred on 12/28/2002 Was closed by sutures ( stitches) Its been a month since injury Can I proceed with scar revision And scar removal surgery etc or how long do I have to wait?due to healing process
I had a punch excision in January to remove an ice pic scar. Unfortunately, once the stitches were removed, the wound opened up creating a hole. I had a fractional C02 laser treatment on it to help but wondered if there were any treatments that you could recommend for me to have. The dr has offered to redo the treatment, however I'm scared the same will happen, leaving an even bigger hole. Thanks in advance.
