I had ptosis surgery about 2 weeks ago, I found out last Thursday I had an infection, I went to A&E to see a nurse and theyve put me on antibiotics.. everything seemed to be doing well until this morning when I woke up with a sore red bump? Whats happening? Im worried Also shouldnt my stitches have dissolved by now? Also my eye is still VERY droopy
Hi I had second ptosis surgery 2 weeks ago in my left eye. As I wasn't able to go to the check up to remove stitches I let someone else remove them. My doc can't receive my again before 3rd January. At this moment Im concerned as I dont see any difference to before and when stitches were in. It's still as low. See pics which stitches and closed without. Is there still swelling? Is it due to the scare that is still visible ?
I had my second ptosis surgery 8 days ago - my first surgery made no difference to the eye and it dropped again, this surgery the eyelid has been stitched much tighter by my surgeon and has resulted in an over correction. The surgeon mentioned at the time it was better to over correct as he believed the lid would relax and drop. I'm very concerned as the eye looks awful and is hung up when I look down.
I had ptosis repair 9 days ago. The stitches were placed underneath the eyelid. A day after surgery I had minimal swelling and then as days went on my eye seemed to look smaller and smaller and now on day 9 I am feeling very depressed that I will need a revision. I know it may be too early but I thought I should see some improvement by now and I just don't. My eye is also feeling very sore and scratchy. I am using sterile lubricating drops often. I see my surgeon tomorrow
I had ptosis surgery on July 6th Doctor wouldn't remove stitches , I was very concerned because I felt they were in too long I voiced my concern twice He said the stitches dissolve July 18th, the stitches were still there , my eyes were red , stiff , aching . I cut them out ,felt better . I know but my surgeon would not , the stitches had been in for 12 days I get keloid/hypertrophic scars easily They stitch looks like a train track ,raised red bumpy scars are hard / extremely stiff
I always had ptosis in my left eyelid. It wasnt always noticeable. Unless when i got tired it was very visible. The days after my surgery my eyelid was always droopy. At first i tought it was due to the stitches and swolllen eye. Now 14 days later (4 days after removing stitches my eye is still droopy. Im getting worried now. When at first it was only droopy when i was tired now i always have it. When i ask People They say my eye isnt swolllen anymore. So the eyelid should be good now
I am planning to get ptosis surgery within the next year. My surgeon wants me to return after one week for stitch removal, however, I live across the country. Am I able to get stitches removed by a medical professional closer to home or do I have to return to my surgeon?
