Im four months post neck lift and Im struggling to understand whats happening. I never had a double chin until after the procedure. 4 months out, shouldnt still be swollen and have pain but I do . It looks like the middle of neck was stapled in with skin hanging all around it. I never had this much skin there before the procedure, I only had minimal sagging. wondering if anyone can explain whats happening?
Im into my 4 months post surgery from a SMAS face and neck lift along with a platysmaplasty . Ive been worried since day one with seeing my results as my neck just didnt fit the norm expected after surgery. Personally its been ugly from the start. Everyday I massage, Im so conscious of it and upset. I thought I choose my surgeon well , I did say I wanted no lipo on my neck as it was only a small bit but hes done it. Will the middle drop down to match ? What options ? Dont want to go back
4 months post neck lipo with a board-certified plastic surgeon, 42 years. Very unnatural contour, look like my neck was scooped out with a melon baller. Cavity & numb under the chin, but no blending, so jowls hang. I look way worse than before and am too sad to let anyone see me.
I had a neck lift May 29th 2018 and I have noticed a lump on my neck that is becoming more prominent. I did ask my Dr at the post op 9/28/18 and he said it looks like a lymph node. I dont think it is a lymph node because it feels more superficial (it's not deep) and its soft and squishy. Any idea of what it could be and what to do about it?
Nearly 4 mos post op, neck lift results disappointing. Significant banding/sagging of skin still appears - see pre and post op pics. I will consult with an expert at 6 mo to discuss. I've heard cost of revisions can exceed that of the original procedure. Is this typically true? It appears my plastysma muscle not sufficiently tightened; neck banding I went in with is still visible and problematic. The profile and sides of my face have better correction, but I see that starting to sag as well.
See pictures. This area looks much worse now than it did 2 weeks after surgery (except that the bruising is gone). Will this area soften/relax? I'm very self-conscious about it. From a profile view, there isn't much improvement from a pre-surgery profile view. I'm 60 years old. I've been massaging gently twice a day with cocoa butter per PS's instructions. My last checkup was at 3 months. She thinks everything looks fine. I'm not scheduled to see her again until month 7. Thanks in advance.
At nearly 4 months post-neck and face lift I still have lumpy, bumpy areas alongside / adjacent to the submental incision. The area is also discolored (its kind of a brown color). There seems to be banding, too, from the side. Is this normal healing? Thank you for your time.
Along with the banding showing ear to ear under chin, I cannot adequately move my neck as there is terrible pulling underneath each jaw, as if there is not enough skin to allow me to look up or even turn side to side along with pain. I am 4 Months into recovery and don't feel I am getting adequate answers from my current PS and am quite frightened that this cannot be fixed. I also need correction on pixie ear
I had a lower face lift and neck left 4 months ago. As the swelling went away the bands on my neck are hanging again. My Dr said he will redo the procedure , but this time it wil be a lateral procedure.I had no complications . The pain was minimal the first time. It took a long time for the scabs and discomfort behind my ears to subside. Can you pls explain the difference between the two procedures, and how successful & natural is the lateral neck lift.
After having neck surgery to remove my waddle, I had problems with blood pooling under my chin so the drain was reinserted. The swelling has gone down but I still have ugly knots and rope-like scars under my chin. I've had multiple needle aspirations to help drain fluid and steroid shots. I am 4 months post op now without significant improvement. What is the problem? There was no incision at affected site. What is the prognosis for improvement? What treatment is recommended?
