I had a 7mm x 7mm mole removed almost 4 weeks ago. I've been putting Vaseline or Neosporin on it and have kept it covered the entire time. It still hasn't started to scab and will get tender and a little gunky if I forget to change the bandage for one day. The air seems to irritate it If I leave it uncovered for more than a minute. Is this normal?
I got a scar from removing a mole using Apple Cider Vinegar. It resulted in creating a crater. A scab formed which eventually came off resulting in a pink scar. Before, the scar was concave and pink. Now it has darkened over two weeks the edges are even darker (purple color) creating a dark ring. Why are the edges so dark? Is it hyperpigmentation or melanin? Please advise if this is part of the normal healing process and if you have any recommendations at this early stage of scarring.
2 days later the open wound formed a scab. I kept it clean and dry and took good care of it and after 4 days the scab fell off, leaving a little red hole on my nose. It does not bleed or hurt. Im wondering if this hole will fill up over time or if it will remain like that? Its been 8 days since I removed it.
Hello, Recently I peeled off a new mole as I thought is was a scab. I will be going to the derm to get it checked for melanoma but my problem is that when I peeled off the molem I traumatized the area again severely. It healed buy i'm worried that the mole area will no longer be visible through a dermatoscope. My question is that if a mole is peeled off and traumatized again badly, can it still be seen under a dermatoscope like the remnants of where the mole was? Please help
I had my mole cauterized 24 hours ago from the centre of my chest. I am prone to keloid scarring but chose to take that risk. The dr put an antibiotic ointment on it and covered it with a small plaster. She told me to keep it on for 48 hours and then remove it to allow a scab to form. Ater doing a lot of research, every consultant and derm on this website from all over the world have stated NOT TO LET A SCAB FORM. So do I apply Vaseline and a dressing OR let it dry straight away?
