I recommend following up with your Doctor for a formal evaluation and recommendations for after care. I recommend silicone gel with growth factors to promote healing. Subsequent scarring can be improved with lasers and microneedling/prp. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

It is a bit early to see how the final results will come out.  It takes a scar a full year to remodel, so be patient and follow the wound care instructions provided by your dermatologist.  Some raised moles do best being removed with a simple shave technique, so if you have other moles you would like removed, please discuss it with a board certified dermatologist who can evaluate your moles and make sure you are not having any possible precancerous or cancerous moles treated with laser.  Sometimes the laser treatment can alter the way a mole looks under the microscope if it ever does become a problem and needs to be biopsied.  Best of luck.
