I have an appt scheduled in late Jan to get liposuction on my abs and flanks done, then soon after I'll be going back for my inner and outer thighs...I am past being worried about the pain (thanks to all of these informational posts) I am now concerned with the drainage. Can someone tell me what to expect? Is there a lot of fluid? How often do you have to change the dressing?
Ive heard that some massage therapists recommended reopening the incisions to drain the fluid manually through the incision during a massage. Is this something that is recommended? If they dont drain the liquid through the incision point how else will the liquid be drained? Is there any additional risk of fibrosis or seroma with either approach?
A doctor I had a consult with for 360 lipo says that he doesn't use drains and he stitches the incisions up straight after surgery. My concern is draining. If the incisions are closed immediately where will the fluid go? I always thought surgeons either used drains or left the incisions open for a while first.
I had surgery 10 days ago (lipo and bbl) I have two separate drain tubes one in my pelvic area and the other right above my butt crack .( intergluteal cleft) but the one on my butt crack is still dark red but my pelivuc tube is light red and some what yellow. Is this normal? Yes I know its not common after liposuction to have a drain but thats how my surgeon prefer to do it. The drain fills up less than 200ml in a 24 hour cycle. If i take the drain out too early can i remove it with a syringe?
I had Lipo 3 weeks ago and had a complication with a seroma in one spot. It was drained 6 times and I think it went away finally but my stomach does not in any shape form or fashion look good. Is this normal? When do I start to worry that it will not get any better than this? there also seems to be an odd imprint on my stomach. I have read all the answers and know there is swelling. What I want to know is 3 weeks PO is this what it is supposed to look like?
Iam 2 months post op from lipo and I immediately gotten a seroma in my lower back. A drain was put in for about 1 month and and 2 weeks and they recently removed it because it was supposedly closed. Before they removed it they injected it with doxicycline to seal the wall. Now I have fluid again he stated I didnt need another drain that my body will absorb the fluid. Its huge and my back hurts what should I do. Can it mess with my spine. And would I stay with a huge hard bump on my back
I had lipo and BBL 15 months ago. Did not recover well, PA had to drain abdomen every 2-3 days, had severe pain for 6 months, then tolerable pain for another 9 months. Have several hard and soft lumps, a hard band around waist thats still tender, burn scar on tattoo, overall very uneven. Dr has been injecting anti inflammatory steroid injections to lumps every 6 weeks for 15 months and now recommends that only a tummy tuck will improve appearance. I feel very confused.
