The lines seem a bit deeper than fine lines. I have looked up various procedures, namely 1)corner lip lift (a dr advised against it, citing scarring issues) 2)commissuroplasty or narrowing of the mouth 3)Bullhorn liplift (with more lateral shortening than vertical) 4)some kind of skin excision or resurfacing (not sure how much it would help) Is there really no way to have a scar free healing in the first two procedures, even with the best scar prevention protocols? What are the viable methods?
I panicked after my lip lift (felt it was too high), and after reading some info online, I started manually tugging at my lip in an attempt to lower it. I did not realize what this was doing to my scar, and now my scar is large and raised in places, but not everywhere. I am terrified that I've created a keloid. I did manual stretching for 2 solid weeks after surgery, started at week 2/3. I had no idea. Please let me know your thoughts. I have never had a keloid and noone in my family has either.
Im getting a lip lift because of asymmetry and long distance. But my lower lip has volume on one side and not the other. Is it safe, feasible, and a smart idea to fix it just like the pictures I posted? It seems like the skin would snap and stretch and the healing process would ruin the appearance of the lip.
I have seen womens experiences on here with lip lifts that have stretched from the scar, lengthening the gap between nose and lips and also the scar becoming more visible because of the stretch.
I had a lip lift 6 months ago which has healed well. Sometimes its still a little tender and pink, after sneezing a lot, from allergies. I need to have a molar, second from last tooth, on my lower jaw either filled or crowned. Will having my mouth so stretched open, for so long, do anything harmful to my lip lift? Thanks
To close the mouth after a upper lip lift, doesn't the lower lip have to stretch up to close the mouth? Won't that mean that the distance from the lower lip to the bottom of chin will become longer? I have a longish face. Ideally, I'd like to shorten both (1) the upper lip and (2) the chin. (1) will be easier that (2). But if I do (1), then (2) will be even longer, is that correct? Thanks for any insight.
I have seen comments regarding upper lip stretching to help with short upper lips. I had too much removed when I had a lip lift- 8mm removed. I would love to gain some mm. I am now 5 weeks post surgery and have not seen any signs of dropping. What are the lip stretching exercises I have read about on Real Self? When can I start these exercises?
I had 3mm removed from upper lip. Can I gain back at least by stretching it? How often do I stretch it, how long? How long before I see results? For example pull down on my upper lip for how long a day to gain 1.5 mm back. Is this possible?
