Im indian, female, with somewhat light skin and dark hair. I don't have pcos. Its just a hormonal issue. Ive heard here and elsewhere horror stories of hair coming back worse. Ive been given hormone pills yasmin. Alongside that would laser work? Im depressed. Is it over for me? Is there zero hope?
I'm a trans man who hasn't started testosterone yet but I want to. The thing is that I'm getting laser hair removal because I have too much body hair (which I'm not entirely fond of). My question is if I start hormonal therapy, would I need to do the procedure again? If so, how often would I need to do it again?
I have been getting laser removal every 6 weeks for 4 years! The hair on my face is too fine, dark, and hormonal to be permanently removed so it keeps growing back. I am spending a lot of money monthly to top-up. Can I invest in a home laser device and top up myself? Does anyone have any recommendations for a good one that actually works?
They used laser hair removal for my entire body. I have dark hair and olive skin. it workes on my legs but my back ( I have an unusually hairy back as a woman) and it did not work. It is over 2 years! I used to have a hormonal imbalance which is treated and everything is normal now. The machine was Soprano XL is there any more effective technology available? Thanks.
I am an Indian female in my late twenties. I have been getting facial laser hair removal for a while. I want to try getting my old acne (dark marks) to go away with microneedling. Some forrums I have read encourage men go use microneedling as a way to promote beard growth. Since my facial hair is hormonal I am worried will microneedling encourage more hair to grow Ps yes I know laser has little long term effect on my face hair reduction unless I take pills for hormones but I use it for cleaning
I am of Indian descent and I have excess hair in places women usually do not. I have recently started getting laser hair removal. However, I read some websites saying women getting laser hair removal who have hormonal imbalances will not benefit from laser hair removal. I don't have a deep voice or anything like that, I always thought the excess hair is just genetic. Is it only possible for women to have excess dark hair if it is a hormonal imbalance?
Does the use of estrogen patches and cyclic progesterone to treat hypothalamic amenorrhea create a risk of hyperpigmentation from laser hair removal or increase photosensitivity? I'm probably skin type III, maybe borderline IV (especially in summer) with brown hair. I was told the Alex laser on Cynosure Elite would be good for me (but possible yag for bikini where skin is darker/purplish color). Does that sound right?
What are some of the negatives about completely removing the hair from down there? I read an article that stated there's a higher risk of STIs? Also, I will only be getting 6 sessions done, and I know with hormones changing over time it can cause the hair to grow back, is that true?
Im a 34 y/o woman and have had 7 sessions of laser done on my neck im the last 9 months with no real results. The therapist blames my pcos even though i had it done on my cheeks 8 yrs ago in another country, with great results but she insists - even though my endo says my hormones are balanced now. Yesterday she did a patch test and increased the intensity by 2 levels. It was ok but im nervous to let her do my whole neck - as it's already a mess due to ingrown hairs from the shaving
