After 4 years of laser hair removal that hasn't worked, is it smart to invest in a home device and top-up myself? Which device?

I have been getting laser removal every 6 weeks for 4 years! The hair on my face is too fine, dark, and hormonal to be permanently removed so it keeps growing back. I am spending a lot of money monthly to top-up. Can I invest in a home laser device and top up myself? Does anyone have any recommendations for a good one that actually works?
