6 years ago I got veneers on my top 8 front teeth due to severe tetracycline staining. They will never be white because the darkness underneath shows through. I'm considering having Kor done on my bottom teeth but am concerned the color on top and bottom will be too off. Is it worth it to have the Kor done, or will I look worse with the color differences? Is there any way to get my veneers whiter? I feel like I just can't win. Please help as I am so distressed about this.
I recently concluded Invisalign treatment and am now at the point where I only wear a clear retainer at night on my upper teeth. My dilemma is that I will soon start the KOR nighttime whitening at home treatment, which requires me to wear the whitening trays overnight. Given this, is it okay to wear my clear plastic retainer during the day vs. night during the two week period I am undergoing the KoR treatment?
I currently have braces and want to get my teeth whitened once their removed. I did some research and a lot of people said that they didn't see any significant results. I know everyone is different and get various results. I just want to make sure this is the best option available. Can Kor Whitening make a dramatic difference?
I am new to the KR System and am on day three. I woke up day/morning one and felt the difference immediately as my teeth hurt (and already noticed slightly whiter teeth even with just one night, which was amazing.) My gums feel as though they're on fire and my teeth are not only sensitive but generally painful overall. It is getting worse day by day. It's actually difficult to even eat. I would feel much more comfortable if I knew this was normal or not, should I continue, and any sort of treatment. Before I started the KR system I had zero sensitivity (only minor gum sensitivity.) I had my custom KR trays made and shipped out to California and shipped back a few weeks ago, they arrived days ago, and I have just finished up night three. I am intent on finishing the entire system as I greatly enjoy seeing noticeable results despite the pain. I do have a few other questions: (as the provided DVD is unclear,) how often may I use the desensitizing gel? Should I use it more than once a day and continue to use it at night, past day two as recommended in the official DVD? Why does it burn the gums? Is there anything available, besides a simple Rx fluoride rinse, that would help soothe my gums and/or teeth? Prescription or not, I would appreciate a recommendation. The information so far that has been provided to me (at great cost, as KR is not cheap - has been disappointing, and even a Google search does not provide much more information.) Also, my dentist's office did set aside a particular thirty minute visit to try on my trays, which appeared to fit nicely. However, they did not perform a conditioning visit as the extent of it was simply trying on the trays without any gel, a few verbal instructions, and I was told simply to watch the DVD. I absolutely love my dentist and his staff, however, I'm curious as to why a trained KR office would skip any procedure (that has been specifically at your recommendation) that would help me and condition my teeth. I was provided with two tubes of gel for two weeks time (in the bag with a case, DVD, and pamphlet) and have nearly gone through half one of the syringes already. I've been trying to use as little as possible but have followed the provided DVD instructions to the letter, doing exactly as you have personally advised. Which is, apply the gel to the front of the teeth, set in place, allowing a slight overflow. To quote you, as the third step - You have a conditioning visit in the dental office. They try in the KoR-Seal Whitening Trays to confirm they fit and seal well. Then they fill the trays with the KoR conditioning gel for 20 minutes, and then re-fill the trays for another 20 minutes. You may or may not see some whitening from this procedure. The conditioning gel is designed to chemically emphasize the oxygenation process of the gel. This helps microscopically cleanse the microstructure of the teeth so that the at-home whitening works even better and faster. I am a willing patient, extremely eager for results but am disappointed in a few things so far - such as the sensitivity and lack of apparent proper protocol from a certified KR provider - a provider that I trust with my life and have only had wonderful experiences with.
Dr. Kurthy,I was extremely excited to use the Kor whitening system. I am a coffee, tea, and wine drinker so my teeth do have some staining. I followed the directions exactly, put the trays in and went to sleep. I woke up at 3:30 a.m. in some of the worst pain of my life!! I have given birth to three daughters and the pain rivaled that!! It felt like someone was digging out each tooth individually with a knife! The pain was shooting into my jaw and broke through all pain killers I took. I spent $750, a good portion of my monthly income. When I called my dentist that very next morning there was no offer of a refund or any sort of compensation. The idea of putting those trays back in my mouth sounds like pure torture. I was under the impression that Kor was painless. What do you suggest or recommend? The idea that I am just out $750 does not sit well with me.Thank you for your time, any comments would be greatly appreciated.Katheryn
I've just started the KoR Whitening system. The video and instructions state that I should wait to start whitening each night until I'm ready to go to bed. What's the rationale for the direction against starting whitening while watching television or reading a book with the trays in my mouth? Also, is there a recommended number of hours the trays should be in place each night?
I have done a month of the Kors whitening system at home and I have had 2 in office whitening procedures. My teeth are lighter but not dramatically (b1or b2 before procedure). My problem is that my teeth have white lines running through them and are not near as white at the top of the teeth. They are white at the ends and then darker at the gums. I haven't bleached for 5 nights. Will they even out? Why did this occur? This system was $1800 and I expected it to work better. :(
If I understand correctly, there are two types of in-office KoR whitening: the max and the max ultra. The difference between the two is that the max ultra uses an extra 13% hydremide peroxide at the beginning, and also a longer period of time with KoR Night. Is the Max Ultra reserved only for recalcitrant and difficult cases or can it be used for anyone? Also, is the conditioning appointment prior to the application of the whitening gel optional or necessary?
