I had two unfortunate infections that affected the level/natural fold of my eyelids resulting in them now being asymmetrical. On the right eye , I had a chalazion that lasted two years although I had tried to help it by getting 2 incisions and an injection and on the other eye (left) I had an abscess that had to get lanced right under my eyebrow which made my upper eyelid heavier and by consequence is pushing my fold down and I am now considering surgery to fix the asymmetry
I had a cheek implant and infraorbital rim implant fitted a year ago I'm planning to have a lower blepharoplasty, canthopexy and lower eyelid retraction next year If I got an infection from the eyelid surgery is there a risk it could spread below the periosteum to the implants, im scared it would require removal
I had an eye infection and saw a doctor in October 2017. It took a month to heal with medication. I tried natural treatments for the chalazions but they did not go away on their own. I went to an eye doctor who performed a chalazion removal surgery to drain the biggest one. After the surgery my eye has been swollen for months. The follow up eye doctor who told me I have an eye infection and prescribed me anti-biotics and to apply warm compress. Whats wrong with my eye? Why won't it heal?
I'm very interested in infraorbital rim implants, however the one thing pushing me away is the risk of infection. It would be devastating to me if an implant were to be infected. I'm wondering, is the risk of implant infection lasting for the rest of the patient's life, and can happen spontaneously, or is the risk only present in the initial post-operative period before becoming zero afterwards (unless something happened eg capsule puncture) Thank You
Had upper eyelid surgery 6 days ago, The eyes have been very sensitive to light, last night though while sleeping I woke up with me eyes like something was in it scratching it, and is now continuing throughout the day, it's bloodshot and non stop watering and I can not open it due to the scratching irritation,I'm taking fake eye tear drops and also drops for infection, I'm having stitches out tomorrow but from a different doctors because I went overseas for my op as I live on a very small island
I am very worried, this morning I just checked, the pus has all dried up but there is still minor pain where the pus came out from. Does this mean my infection has stopped? I am taking antibiotics
I had a stye infection 6 months ago on my upper eyelid. The lump was really huge and had drained out after a tiring few weeks. Recently one of my colleagues noticed that one of my eyes is smaller than the other, and the eye that appeared smaller was the one that had the stye. It doesn't have any lumps on the upper eyelid et my eyes look small. Why is that? What can I do to fix my eyes?
ER diagnsd cellulitis, gave 2 antibiotics. Saw PS 2 days later, said it's cont derm from bacitracin, wash it, dry out, put nothing on it, gave antiinflamm, stop antibiotics. ER called, said culture returnd yeast, gave Diflucan but still take rest antibiotics, which I am, better safe than sorry. Skin is cracked, if it scabs will it scar? Should I be lubricating it? Should I seek a new Dr? This Would not have happnd if dr had called me back a wk ago when I started calling. He seemed nonchalant.
I had under eye fat removal with tear trough implant (silicone) at the end of August. After complications started 1 month post op, ( residual swelling, occasional redness and red bumps that dissipate) I sought a second opinion ( my ps was baffled), and was diagnosed with biofilm infection. Implant removal was recommended. I'm terrified that I will look hollow and worse than I did before surgery. What can I expect to look like? When can I begin revisions? What type of procedures are available ?
