I'm very interested in infraorbital rim implants, however the one thing pushing me away is the risk of infection. It would be devastating to me if an implant were to be infected. I'm wondering, is the risk of implant infection lasting for the rest of the patient's life, and can happen spontaneously, or is the risk only present in the initial post-operative period before becoming zero afterwards (unless something happened eg capsule puncture) Thank You

At five days I would not be worried as this will more than likely resolve with time. If you have deeper bruising or swelling compared to the right side this can account for the gaping. It does not appear that too much skin was removed. I hope you find this reassuring and best of luck.
Thank you for your question. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon because you seem to be a candidate for blepharoplasty and eyelid rejuvenation.
Best wishes,
Vertical eye/orbit asymmetry is very common among the population, to varying degrees. It is practically not possible to change that asymmetry but some options for improvement are available. Consultation necessary.
