Can anyone tell me if this is a dog ear or hypertrophic scar? This is after upper eyelid surgery revision where the surgeon had to remove skin as I had a raised lump that didnt go down but seems the raised skin is still there? Its worse when I smile as the skin folds when I smile. What is the treatment for this as Ive already had revision surgery and it looks even worse.
Dr originally said it's a suture granuloma, but I'm convincedit's a dog ear. (Was there from day 1.) Dr injected it a couple times with something that didn't help. Should I get it surgically fixed, or try more injections? Would a different dr. be more willing to fix it surgically?
Hi, I had an upper blephoplasty procedure 6 months ago. Looking at the right side of my face - the crease seems to be jagged. Could this be rectified in a revision? I don't think there's much more skin to remove - but I would just like it to look a bit neater. My surgeon is removing the excess 'bumps' or 'dog ears' on either side on my eye's in his office in a months time - would he able to fix this at the same time?
Hi I did a partial incision blepharoplasty with lateral canthoplexy. Loving the result except for the small SCD on my left eye that started to show from 3rd week. I have been using strataderm scar gel and massaging it for a month as doc instruction. Will this go away by itself or should I do revision or steroid injection? Just want a second opinion
I had upper and lower eyelid surgery concurrently with a breast reduction 8/16.The scars on the sides of my breasts healed puffy and raised so that they show when I wear a swimsuit. The surgeon called them dogears and performed an inoffice correction in April. It didn't help, so now he is recommending more surgery and lipo. My lower eyelids, after less than a year, are still loose. Yesterday, doctor refrred me to a med spa for laser therapy. I've spent thousands. Will it work?
I am 13 months post op and have excess skin around my upper eyelid incision. Can you tell if this is hypertrophy or if the surgeon left more excess skin than necessary? My surgeon suggests steroid injections to reduce the fat which he says will also end up reducing some of the skin. I'm not sure if I should move forward with the suggested steroid injections or ask for a revision. What are the risks with both? (I've attached old photos weeks after surgery as well as a photo of how it looks today)
I am massaging faithfully every day as per instructions. Haven't really seen much of a change in the last 2 months. Scars are still quite raised but I can't imagine this bag at the end will disappear. There is a slight one on the other eye also but not as bad. Any thoughts?
I had eyelid revision surgery and ptosis correction two months ago in another country. The only issue is that I have some redundant skin at the end of incision line on one eye, and the other eye has what appears to be the same thing, but a small bump as well. I can't consult with doctor since he is in another country, but he asked me to massage the area, and thinks it should resolve in time. Willing to wait it out, but only concern is that it hasn't gotten better since surgery.
What are some of the risks to having a steroid injection into 'dog ear' scars? Had an upper bleph two years ago and the doctor flared his incision lines all the way up to touch the end of my eyebrows. I am now left with 'dog ears'; raised scars that look like cysts. I do not want my eyelids cut again. A doctor suggested a steroid injection on this site and I was wondering what are the possible risks. Is there a particular steroid that is better than others? Thanks.
