Hello dear Dr I am 30 YO female. I always had a full beatiful lips. I had a dental implant which was removed 4 months ago. My face changed drastocally for the worse since then. My cheek sunk, but the most scarier part- i start few weekd ago to nothice a lip shrinking / atrophy (both upper and lower) in the side of the removal. I also lost a lot of bone. I am now waiting for my surgery which is bone graft and in 6-7 months a new implant. I am so worried that it is not reversable. TYI
Here is my case: Lip incompetence (mentalis strain) Congenital absence of lower canines Gummy smile Procumbency of the lips Maxillary vertical excess One orthodontist recommended extraction of the upper premolars and recede the profile. This would resolve the lip incompetence and protusion. Another one said extraction would not solve the lip incompetence. He recommends two lower canine implants and considers a genioplasty and lip lift at the end of treatment. I don't know what to do.
I had a #19 implant on November 8th but after 2 days I contacted my surgeon about the numbness and he asked me to take a panorama, he removed the implant and inserted a shorter one on November 10th and he told me the healing process is going to be slow but I should notice the progression of the healing every 4-5 days. Frankly I am not feeling that much of a difference. Maybe I am just panicking! Help! P.S. Sorry for my bad English!
3on6 implants full mouth, 20 extract & 13yrold implant removed. Specifically asked if need Oral Surgeon to remove implant, Said he could, Paid in full, scheduled surgery. Had issues removing implant w/size wrench needed, exterior hex(?) wrenched implant w/such force my head jerked. 5wks later jaw face chin lips still numb, pain, earache, back to office 4x & since has removed 2 implants (new) resting on nerve? He's not concerned said takes months to unnumb. Do I need Oral Surgeon 2nd opinion?
My implant doesn't match my other teeth(I don't complain on color) size and shape is my concern, when I smile, I feel with my lips only that one tooth in my mouth because it's very bulky and it seats higher in my gums. My dentist sad that she couldn't do any better because of my bone size and some other excuses, kinda my smile arch is not proper and tooth next to my implant turned different angle, but it's ok, because when I smile my gums are not exposed.
There is a slight inclination of the implant on my R side, where numbness on tongue and lips observed ..so if this implant is made straight , will the numbness and tingling sensation be gone ?? It is a nerve damage ? a/c to my dentist , der's a inclination of the implant on R side.
Is it normal to not have numbness on my chin, gum. and lips 2 days after implant on low second molar? The old teeth was removed on the same day. Teeth and gum in front of the teeth that was removed has been itchy. Light pain when really poke on my gum. Can't feel my lip at all.
I've had 4 extractions two premolars top and bottom following orthodontic treatment and am saddened by the loss of width and projection of my teeth as well as fullness of my lips. Is it possible to have orthodontic treatment to restore this fullness even if it means making room for dental implants to replace the lost teeth. I was also considering veneers if orthodontic treatment was not possible. I am 29 years old.
pls help me. I just removed dental implant screw from my upper jaw front. Because implant very close next tooth root plus not enough bone. Now already 15 days but still pain. My cheek, lips, gum, next two teeth, can't even speak properly and can't laugh. I told my dentist she say it is healing process is normal. It is true this are pain is normal ? After removing dental implant how long pain? after remove X-ray is normal my doctor say.
