Numbness on my chin, gum, and lips 2 days after receiving implant on low second molar?

It is not "normal" to feel numb a couple days after the procedure.  It could be due to a couple of things.  First off you could have swelling that has developed around the nerve called neuropraxia which should resolve in weeks to months, this is caused by possible injection close to the nerve or localized swelling that can occur around the nerve where the surgery and implant took place.  From your symptoms it does sound like this is what you have.  The other issue could be that the implant is sitting on the nerve causing a more serious issue.  Unlikely that the second cause is the issue as most surgeons take X-rays while placing the implant as well as getting a 3D X-ray prior to the procedure to localize the nerve.

There are a series of nerve testing protocol that your surgeon should/will perform for you.  The best course of action is to see them and be evaluated, an antiswelling medication such as a medrol dose pak could be useful!

Your residual numbness can be from making you numb initially. This will improve over time. The nerve that allows you to feel your lip can be traumatized from the injection. Nerves are the slowest healing part of the body and it takes a while to overcome the trauma, but will get better. The other issue could be from the placing of the implant and/or removing the tooth. It could have also been traumatized due to where the implant is in relation to the nerve. Either way, I would let the dentist who did the work know about this. He/she should have a better idea as to why you still have this numbness.
