Lip atrophy due to implant removal? (Photo)

Hello dear Dr I am 30 YO female. I always had a full beatiful lips. I had a dental implant which was removed 4 months ago. My face changed drastocally for the worse since then. My cheek sunk, but the most scarier part- i start few weekd ago to nothice a lip shrinking / atrophy (both upper and lower) in the side of the removal. I also lost a lot of bone. I am now waiting for my surgery which is bone graft and in 6-7 months a new implant. I am so worried that it is not reversable. TYI

Hello. The free movement of your lip may have been forced due to conditions such as tension and scar tissue formation in the soft tissues due to the surgical procedure. In fact, since the relevant area is not an area where the facial nerve that gives motor innervation to the lip is affected, the current situation suggests that your lip complaint may be temporary. Of course, the lack of lip support in the relevant area due to the absence of teeth may be another possible cause of this complaint. These complaints are expected to disappear at the end of the treatment and I think that the current situation is reversible
