I've had 4 extractions two premolars top and bottom following orthodontic treatment and am saddened by the loss of width and projection of my teeth as well as fullness of my lips. Is it possible to have orthodontic treatment to restore this fullness even if it means making room for dental implants to replace the lost teeth. I was also considering veneers if orthodontic treatment was not possible. I am 29 years old.
Answer: Restoring lost fullness of Lips Completely returning your dentition to it"s pre-extraction form would be the absolute best treatment. You are very attentive to the changes in your mouth due to the previous removal of the 4 teeth and anything less than complete treatment may not be successful to you. This would require Orthodontic therapy and then Implant placement and restoration with Implant Crowns.I have treated Four-Bicuspid extraction cases with Invisalign to re-expand the arches and give lip support and made patients happy doing this, but this may not work for you. Veneers can be utilized to expand and support the lips if carefully planned but this may not work for you. Some careful pre-treatment work could be done with waxing up a study model and fabrication of a template could be made for you to try in to see it this kind of treatment may have a chance for success to avoid orthodontic treatment and implants.Full lips can be achieved with veneers if done correctly, but you would never want to drill down the enamel to add back. You would only want to do NO-Preparation veneers. Find someone who knows how to do these if you do veneer treatment. Again, you will probably need Orthodontic opening of the lost spaces and implants to get you back to your comfort of before. It is going to take the care of a caring and patient dental professional, but I know there are others like me around the world who are ready and willing to help you.

Answer: Reversing Extraction/Retraction Orthodontics It is possible to use appliances and braces to move your teeth to re-open the spaces where you had your teeth pulled. Then place implants to restore the teeth that were pulled. And, the treatment should restore your aesthetic facial form as well as fullness to your lips. You could also receive other considerable health benefits from doing this the right way. You will need to find a dentist or orthodontist who has experience doing this procedure, as there are very few in the world who have the experience.

Answer: 4 bicuspid extractions It's difficult to give you a specific answer without pictures. Both of the options you listed will work. Doing the veneers may be an easier choice than moving those teeth orthodontically.

Answer: Aligners This can be restored by using aligners to regain lost lip support. A treatment set up would be needed. Veneers are a faster fix if time is a concern.
