A piece broke off my topback molar. The x-ray doesn't show that I need a root canal but when the doctor did a bite test it hurts when I bite on something with a lot of pressure. He suggested a zirconium crown and said that its a possibility that I need a root canal later. He would drill a whole on it if I need it. Today's technology why can I get a better scan to confirm that root canal is needed or not? Also how can a Zirconium crown be drilled without any damage! I'm sceptica
I had a deep dental cleaning 5 weeks ago and have visited the dentist twice with this problem and they dont see anything wrong, even with X rays. The gum was giving me problems before going in but they said after removing plaque, that it should go down in a week. The crown is 10 years old and isnt loose, but it causes me pain daily at this point. Its had a root canal and I floss it every night & Last night I noticed bleeding. Do they need to remove the crown and look under it? Im at a loss.
I had a dental implant surgery on August 31, 2018. Everything went well with healing process and the abundent . Then on March 12, 2019, dentist placed crown 4 days ago. It doesnt hurt when I chew gum, food etc. but it feels pressure, tightness, the gum is sentive achy . Is it normal to feel all that after 4 days of having placed crown?
I had a crown and a root canal done five months ago after finding decay under an old crown on #3. Last month I started having pressure in the crown and the crown is very sensitive to percussion, but ok for biting. Im very used to having crowns and It does not seem normal. Could it be a cavity under the new crown ? I join an x-ray. The x-ray is after the root canal (temporary crown) and before the new crown. Does the x-ray show any decay ? can I know without removing the new crown? Thanks
I had a crown placed into implant to the very last tooth, bottom left. Dentist was unable to get screw to thread and had to get the perio. He used twice the force to thread it. Then she tried to tighten it and said it kept spinning and had to get the perio again. Three days later i have pain and pressure to the teeth preceding it. I cant chew on that side now. All those teeth hurt to floss, breaks at crown bc too tight. Kills on 4th from back, a lot of pressure and pain. Avid flosser.
Hello! I had a root canal on tooth # 23 and temp crowns placed on tooth #s 24 and 25 on January 30th. It is now February 9, and I am still having extreme aching on 24 and 25. My dentist can't fit me in until tomorrow afternoon, and the pain is beginning to become unbearable. Tooth # 23 only hurts when I apply pressure to it or bite down. I have been taking Tylenol and Ibuprofen but I can only take so much. Should I be in pain this long from this procedure?
I had prep work done on my lower left molar for a crown 3 days ago. They placed a temporary crown on it. Now it hurts when pressure is applied to the tooth. I wasn't sure if it still needed time to feel better due to it being worked on a few days ago? Or if is something else. It's also sensitive to cold. Thanks in advance
I had a root canal done on one of my front teeth so now I have a porcelain crown on it after the treatment. Now that I have a crown which is slightly more outward than my actual tooth that was shaved off, my retainer (the silver metal part) pushes onto it and I feel just a little pressure (sometimes pain in the morning). Is this okay? Can a porcelain crown move in accordance to my retainer? Does this loosen the cement? I didn't think of this situation before, however it's coming up now.
