I had a deep dental cleaning 5 weeks ago and have visited the dentist twice with this problem and they don’t see anything wrong, even with X rays. The gum was giving me problems before going in but they said after removing plaque, that it should go down in a week. The crown is 10 years old and isn’t loose, but it causes me pain daily at this point. It’s had a root canal and I floss it every night & Last night I noticed bleeding. Do they need to remove the crown and look under it? I’m at a loss.

Hi:Most likely the crowns have to be adjusted. It is important when checking bite issues the crowns are also checked in multiple movements (side to side and forward) while the teeth are touching.Best,Dr. Maddahi
I would suggest an appointment with your provider- it is possible that the bite on those 2 teeth may need a little adjustment. If the bite is not quite right, i can cause discomfort, and the extra pressure on the teeth, any actually make them feel a little loose.
