I had a crown replaced 2 years ago due to grinding. I have a porcelain crown now without any metal. I can tell its getting worn again, but it hasnt grinded down to a hole yet. Its thin on top of the molar, in the groove. Is it possible to repair it? It has not cracked or chipped. Thank you
After my 30th largest molar is crowned, I felt the crown too high and went back to the dentist to ground it lower, then the opposite tooth 3s crown gum recede, can see the dark line of the crown, its getting wider. Now I often grind my teeth, the pressure of the grinding is on the 31 resulting in chipping on surface adjacent to 32,its getting larger and deeper, painful when flushing with water floss. 30th crowns gum is also recede. Why problems happen? Please advice me the treatments. Thanks
When they put the crown on my lower tooth, if the bite isn't quite right, I understand they may grind down the crown to adjust the bite. If they say they can't grind down the crown any further and want to grind my good upper tooth, should I allow it or ask that the crown be redone? I am afraid to let them touch my good teeth.
I can't close the mouth as usual. Only the crowned tooth will hit the bottom jaw. None other will. Can't chew or grind from the opposite side as the jaws font align. This is giving me a jaw pain and a headache. Still the dentist says bite ok and I need to get used to the new tooth and then it will be ok. How is the bite ok if I can't even bite from the opposite side now. Thanks
by my dentist suggestion, I got a crown on a tooth that wasn't bothering me.It had an old larger filling that he said was starting to become loose. After the crown the tooth started hurting from time to time. , the pain go so bad I made an appointment. The result, root canal. During the root canal they discovered that the tooth was cracked and needs to be removed. My dentist suggested that the crack was do to the fact that I sometimes grind my teeth at night.
One tooth is crowned and they shaved part of the crown down. It has been about 2 weeks and that tooth is feeling much better but my jaw seems to be getting worse, especially after eating. It aches.
Crowns been in for 2 weeks already bite adjusted with tekscan all margins look good no xtra cement no infection on xray. Lite grinder but never had problems before . Now bad jaw pain and nerves flare up after eating something hot and sensitive slightly to cold
I recently had a root canal and crowning of my upper left molar. The problem is that it grinds against the opposing teeth. He made some minor adjustments while fitting, but was not enough. He suggested to grind a sharp opposing lower tooth .02mm. I was against this, as natural teeth are precious. So, how much porcelain thickness does he have to play with? This is metal on the inside, porcelain on the outside. In the extreme, how hard will it be too take out the crown? Thanks!
Dentist recommended 6 zirconium crowns to top front teeth. Nothing to bottom teeth. Teeth are healthy, no cavities, no damage, healthy gums. I have open bite and grind back teeth. Will start using mouth guard at night. The front teeth don't touch each other! I am 29
