Im considering getting a fully ablative CO2 laser resurfacing treatment for facial acne scarring, but still have acne in other areas of the body. How long should someone wait after having fully ablative CO2 laser resurfacing on the face before doing a course of Accutane? Id prefer to do the laser treatment first.
I'm a dark skinned individual with acne scars. My Doctor said I need to use isotretinoin for 4 weeks and stop it for a week before beginning Co2 Laser treatment for acne scar. Why is this? I heard isotretinoin is not recommended before Co2 treatment.
I was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis which was triggered by a course of low dose accutane. It occurred almost immediately upon starting the accutane, which i discontinued after a month a year ago. Ever since, I've experienced horrible flaking skin, texture, scarring randomly without having acne or picking, and inflammation. I've been on treatment for 3 months now (fluconazole, vanicream z bar soap, and zoryve) + following a fungal safe routine and nothing has helped.
I was on accutane and it cleared all my acne but left me with severe scarring. My dermatologist recommended me co2 and icon laser, this last two months I had two sessions for co2 laser. However, I am not satisfied with the results. Should I change treatment or am i just being too impatient? Plus, though accutane cleared acne i had o my scalp it, I still have a hard lump on my scalp where I had acne. What should i do about it.
Hello, I am a tanned skin African American who is looking to complete the second course of Accutane for back and face acne. I would like to do the CO2 laser as soon as possible for the indentations on my face left from cystic acne. How soon after accutane is it generally safe to get C02 laser and how long will the hyper pigmentation last after C02 laser? Is it typically temporary or possibly permanent if hyperpigmentation occurs? Thank you so much for your answers!
I have done my co2 fractional laser before 4 days, today is my 4th day,i have 3-4 acne on my face i continue use moisturizer , sunscreen and night cream also,my doctor suggest take isotretinoin 10 mg daily, but i have read all about isotretinoin after laser,so can i start isotretinoin 10 mg daily, can this will reduce healing process or scarring, plz answer.
Hi Docs, today is my fifth day post CO2 laser however the treated areas are still very red and it feels a bit embossed when touched. I am on 10mg Isotretinoin, stopped taking it 3 days before the procedure. I can notice slightly reduced redness in the cheeks area but the redness in my forehead is extreme. What are my chances of getting a hypertrophic scar? What is the usual recovery time for this scenario and what can I do to reduce the redness? PS. Asian skin. Thank you!
Hello. My skin is very oily and I am forming blackheads once again while also having a few pimples. I've read that Isotretinoin is interfering with collagen production after co2 laser treatments. Is it ok if I start on a low dosage Isotretinoin at this time or do I have to wait a bit longer?
im off isotretinoin for 3 month and my dr says its fine for glycolic peeling 30 % and also for co2 laser resurfacing and i have already done 3 sessions of glycolic peeling for 3 weeks (1 each week )
