4 weeks ago,i had a surgery with medpor chin implant (submental). One week later, under the lips, it became reddish after the bath and sometimes itchy ( wings and bottom side is normal). My scar looks normal. No pus, swelling, pain, warmth.I took cipro for one week just for protection ( My Doc. said). And still same.its not clearly visible on photos. Is this infection or just skin problem? And if i wanna go for sliding genioplasty years later, removal and sliding can be in one surgery?
I had a chin implant placed in the mouth about a year ago, and its caused my lower lip to be crooked slightly to the right accompanied by slight numbness or a stiff feeling on the same lower right side. Left is completely fine. I can force my muscles to have it appear normal, but when im completed relaxed it is noticeable. Will removing or replacing it fix the problem?
My first implant (late 20, insert from inside the mouth) has lots of problem, asymmetrical, one wing create a ledge, too long... Overall, I hate it. After talking with the surgeon about the problem, he decided that it's too complicated to work with me and offer a refund if I remove the implant. It's ideal to remove and replace the implant in one procedure, but if I want the refund, how long after removal can I re-implant? It's risky and bad the perform the procedure separately?
I got a chin implant removed 6 months ago, I only had the implant for a year, but my mandible muscles are causing tension.I got a rhinoplasty surgery about a year ago, the surgeon recommended getting a chin implant due to my facial structure. A few months after, I ended up getting so many issues. My mouth hurt, I couldn't smile, the implant irritated my skin, and I got a lot of pimples on my chin. I had to find another doctor to remove it. However, my chin isn't the same. I have a small visible pocket, and when I speak, I can feel my muscles causing tension. What can I do to make my chin feel better?
I had a silicone chin implant placed 37 years ago. It became infected a month ago (unknown trigger). I was treated with a zpack. It appears the infection is gone, but I am concerned it will return, and I will need to have the implant removed. My question: I have read in some places on the internet that to avoid the development of chin ptosis, there must be some things done beyond simple removal. What is the proper procedure? I would like to avoid a Witch's chin. Anyone experienced in this?
i had a chin implant surgery about 5 years ago and decided to remove it a year ago combining a 8mm sliding genioplasty. ever since doing the removal i noticed i started to get some wrinkles on my chin and a difficulty closing my lips together that i never had before. i tried botox a few times and although it helped with the small bumps, i still have very visible lumps on my chin and when i push my chin skin up with my finger, they are gone. im in my twenties. how can i fix this?
Hi! I had a revision chin implant 6 years after my first one which was too high. This time, a wing on the left side of the implant is dropping down just below my jaw. There is not visible issue, but I just want to know if its necessary to fix it? I dont want to go back under for this, but I also dont want issues later down the line. Ive drawn a red line to indicate where the implant wing dips to and a blue line to indicate my jaw line.
I've had a small Flowers Mandibular Glove implant inserted years ago. I like the way it makes my face look from the front, as it makes it look more defined and heart shaped, but hate how it looks from the side as its very unnatural. I already have a normal sized chin. If I was to remove the implant and get a face/neck lift instead, would I be able to get similar appearing results for the front of the face without the excess chin projection?
Hi doctors! I couldnt really find any answers to this but would love any opinions. I had my chin implant removed atleast half a year ago and have been extremely happy with the removal. No issues aesethically, or physically. My question is if there are any long term health issues that come with removing a silicone implant. Id assume infection would not be an issue since the implant is no longer there?
I had a deep plane face and neck lift with chin implant last august. I look fine with a straight face but when I smile my chin is rounder now and I lost my pointed chin, my face looks fatter due to the rounded look. Am I good candidate to have it removed or has it been too long? Also is there a possibility of having the implant made smaller to keep the protrusion and remove the rounded part? Also, would removal bring back my jowls?
