I went to Richmond Virginia from Texas. After the procedure was done and I woke up I had no function to my lip and I was incredibly swollen. The swelling was so bad we considered going to the hospital. When I was finished he asked me if I had feeling in my lips. Then he asked where I was from and said he knew doctors out there that I could speak to about any complications. Then he took xrays after. The pain was beyond excruciating. 5 years later still in pain. Did he know?
I had a deep neck lift and chin implant about 1.5 years ago. It took about 6 months for me to gain feeling back in my chin (lopsided smile), but when I did, I started to notice pretty strong pain in my left side, right next to where the implant ends (mental nerve?). It would be radiating pain for a few days and then go away. Starting in Feb it's been happening a lot more, and my surgeon has been ignoring my messages. It is also wiggly, which he said would stop happening after about 6 month
I had a chin implant done 4 years ago. Lately I've been experiencing a lot of pain in my chin and teeth area. Based on CT, this is likely a result of the chin implant placed too high up, now touching some nerves or teeth roots. Is it safe to have a chin implant revision to place an implant at the right place? or do I have to remove it completely to let the area heal? I would like to still have an implant but I am in pain, not sure if I can have a revision or just a removal.
I had a small implant placed through the chin ~1 year ago. At 7 months I started to experience a dull pain just above my chin on the right side. Since then it has persisted, occurring about 3-4 times a week. At 12 months the pain is still there and gets worse if I press on the spot above my chin. Like a tingling shooting pain. Is this normal recovery or impinging nerves or a neuroma? Dr advises to wait for healing to continue but I am worried about nerve damage, especially as it has worsened.
Hi i have had a silicone chin implant in 2013 and i have not had any discomfort or pain until this morning i woke up and my chin feels so hard and swollen and tender I feel like the implant has moved from its original place, what could be the reason and what can i do now?
How is Chin implant pain and recovery time compared to face or neck lift? Part of my procedure will be a chin implant. How painful is this post surgery and what other recovery requirements are there? I have read you can only have liquids but for how long? I lose weight easily.
I had a chin augmentation 16 days ago and Im concerned about the pain that I still feel in my chin. On the bottom left side of my chin there is a small bump where the pain is localized when I open my mouth to eat. I cant see a rash and dont have any other symptoms. I will be following up with my doctor next week, but in the meantime Im wondering if I should be concerned about having this kind of localized pain and a hard time eating two weeks post op?
I received a large silastic chin implant and I've been numb on the lower right lip and chin ever since. I don't feel any tingling unless I pucker my lips like a kissy face, and even then it's faint. I can feel the implant through my gums (there's a ridge there underneath my molars). My PS says it's my own bone, but I don't think so. I also feel discomfort and mild pain when I talk a lot on the right side. For doctors here, has removing the implant improved these symptoms for past patients?
The left side of my face is not swollen at all, but the right side is a bit more swollen. I can feel the wing of the implant through my gums. There is a constant sharp pain just underneath my lip. If I touch it, there is a burning sensation the rushes through my chin and lip. I can feel the implant and i know it is riding a bit high but will this hinder my nerve from repairing? I don't want to get another surgery. Will this hinder sensation in my lips in the long run?10 days post, extraorally
