1.5 years after chin implant, possible mental nerve pain? (photos)

I had a deep neck lift and chin implant about 1.5 years ago. It took about 6 months for me to gain feeling back in my chin (lopsided smile), but when I did, I started to notice pretty strong pain in my left side, right next to where the implant ends (mental nerve?). It would be radiating pain for a few days and then go away. Starting in Feb it's been happening a lot more, and my surgeon has been ignoring my messages. It is also wiggly, which he said would stop happening after about 6 month

At this point, I would recommend that you get a CT of the implant to ascertain that it has not migrated. Intermittent pain following an implant placement is very uncommon. The CT will show the position of the implant and whether it is close to the mental nerve.

Experience over 25 years, chin implants should not be mobile. It should be secure to the underlying bone. Mobile chin implants are more likely to become infected or to extrude, so in that regard, it may be best to address this electively. Sometimes a CAT scan is helpful for determining the position or malposition of a chin implant. Occasionally patients may experience pain after chin implant. This is usually around lateral end of the implant, on the side of the chin where implant may press on the inferior alveolar nerve branches. In some cases it can last significant amount of time, sometimes associated with partial lip numbness. Pain on the location where you experience it is not that frequent and may be related to local neuroma/nerve scar. Your implant seems  to be too mobile which may be result of constant touching and moving it to diminish your discomfort? You may try to avoid doing what you are demonstrating on this video? A communication with your surgeon is the best way to approach this issue but if that is not possible, in person second opinion consultation with another surgeon(s) experienced in facial implant surgery is recommended.
