4 weeks ago,i had a surgery with medpor chin implant (submental). One week later, under the lips, it became reddish after the bath and sometimes itchy ( wings and bottom side is normal). My scar looks normal. No pus, swelling, pain, warmth.I took cipro for one week just for protection ( My Doc. said). And still same.its not clearly visible on photos. Is this infection or just skin problem? And if i wanna go for sliding genioplasty years later, removal and sliding can be in one surgery?
4 years ago, I had a chin implant placed. 5 months ago, I aggressively massaged the implant, thinking the right side was higher than the left. This led to swelling, and since then, I've noticed a total of 3 small red spots on my chin. They lasted about a week, starting tender and then being just red, about the size of a large pimple, without gland. I also felt tightening in my chin a month after the massage. Could my massage have caused an infection? If so, how can I confirm if it is?
Hi there! I (26yr F) had a chin implant procedure 4 years ago. I had a great experience and have been very happy with my results. However, over the past 6-8 months I've been experiencing what i thought was acne breakouts on my chin (painful red bumps - they look like pimples but are NOT and inflammation). The bumps are frequently right around the corners of my chin implant. I saw a dermatologist and they said it is a bacterial infection and prescribed antibiotics and a topical to treat. The
I am female, 26. I had a chin augmentation in 2020. Over the past 6-8 months I've been experiencing what i thought was acne breakouts on my chin (painful red bumps - they look like pimples but are NOT, and inflammation). The bumps are frequently right around the corners of my chin implant. Derm said is a bacterial infection. It is chronic/recurring (I was prescribed doxycycline to treat) Is it possible this is an infection of my chin implant? Could an implant infection present this way?
I (24) male had a chin augmentation surgery one year ago. Sadly my implant got infected and had pus oozing out. My surgeon cleaned it and removed the infection lump . It's been 1 month since I got it cleaned and pus still keeps oozing out and I got it cleaned once again and situation hasn't improved since. My surgeon suggested anti biotics and anti bacterial tube. Should I get a second opinion or will the infection get cured?
My jaw wraparound implant got infected and formed two fistulas on either corners of chin. I took antibiotics and so far no more problems thank od. But the muscle when I smile looks botched as it curves up then straight down giving me a whitches chin as I smile. How can I fix the muscle ?G
Recently I went to a consultation for the removal of a chin implant I got around 6 years ago. My new surgeon was telling me he recommends going in through the mouth to remove it due to the fact that if he goes from under the chin (which is the method my first surgeon used to insert it) it will make the scar I have bigger and more noticeable. For me my biggest concern is safety. Ive read that going in through the mouth is risky and can cause infection. Is this rare? Should I find a new surgeon?
