I recently had a consult with a cosmetic dermatologist who recommended a Cosmelan chemical peel for hyperpigmentation. It was performed by the aesthetician who did Step 1 in office and I was told to apply step 2 once daily for days 2-14. I am currently on day 13 and I've noticed that my skin is very light in areas, which appears blotchy and it it remains dark in the same areas as before. Only, this time, I can't tell if it's working or actually making my skin worse. Should I discontinue use?
Just wondering if a proffesional chemical peel can make old scars worse or not. If so is there anything I can do to improve them? Or could it be that my skin just hasn't all the way healed and that's not how they will look? Its been 5 days since my chemical peel. Also do I still need to rub moisturizer on my skin lightly even on areas that the skin has already peeled off? Thanks!
I am a light skin African American woman, I'm a bright yellow color I was considering a chemical peel but I seen that it may worsen the dark spots on as skin.im looking to remove dark spots and shrinking pores and smooth skin would be a bonus please help looking for the most dramatic results
I essentially wanted to start getting them to do something about my hyperpigmentation. I don't have a lot of pimples and immediately after I have about 4 massive pimples and all the hyperpigmentation is exactly the same. I understand that chemical peels are not a quick fix. My esthetician did say it takes about 4 peels (consistently done) to really see results. I just am frustrated. I really don't want to go through another 3 of these in the next couple of months and realize i just wasted a ton of money
I had a micropeel done yesterday, it was a 3-step peel using lactic acid, dermaplaning, and cryogenic therapy. This was my first time having any treatment done. And today my pores look much worse (larger and more of them), fine lines I didn't have before have suddenly showed up, and my acne scars are more apparent. These are all the problem areas I was hoping to eventually diminish!! Is this normal? After having a micropeel does your skin appear worse before looking better?
I am 25 years old and recently, while looking at my face under a magnifying mirror, I noticed that I had two very fine lines underneath my right eye. They weren't noticeable at all but knowing I had them bothered me so I decided to get a 30% TCA peel underneath my eyes. After the peel, my lines are WORSE. You couldn't see them before (only in the magnifying mirror) but now they are deeper and are noticeable in plain sight! Can a TCA peel cause this? What can I do to fix this?!
On Friday, I had a Fire & Ice Facial from a Medi-Spa in my area. I made sure to ask if Retinol use was ok. (I had stopped use of my Retinol 0.5% 2 days b4.). After, certain spots of my face started oozing, In response, she gave me the TNS Recovery complex & the iS Clinical Pro Heal serum to quicken healing. I was told to apply both. Then it sunk in. Did I worsen or cause irreparable damage? I would like to minimize possible scarring as much as I can, & help the healing process. Please help!!
10 days ago i had a peel done by a dermatologist which was supposed to be a medium peel. He definitely over frosted me on my problem areas(forehead and cheeks had large pores) due to this i have a huge dent on my forehead as well as what looks like pitted scars on my cheeks. He has removed the dead skin and now the areas are pink and white.i am worried my face will look worse than before. How long will this take to heal?i have been using scar science on those areas since a week ago. Please help!
