I am a light skin African American woman, I'm a bright yellow color I was considering a chemical peel but I seen that it may worsen the dark spots on as skin.im looking to remove dark spots and shrinking pores and smooth skin would be a bonus please help looking for the most dramatic results

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

A chemical peel
is a fantastic treatment to help with pore size and brighten the skin. You
should begin with a skin care analysis to determine the type and strength of
the acid that would be beneficial for your skin type. Many aestheticians also
offer dermaplaning as part of this treatment that exfoliates the dry, dead skin
cells from the surface and encourages skin cell turnover resulting in an even skin
tone, smaller pores and brighter, clearer skin.  Beginning scheduled treatments 3 to 4 weeks
apart will give your skin the healthy smooth results you’re looking for.

You mentioned
that you are a lighter skinned African American with yellow undertones which
might make you a candidate for a laser treatment such as an IPL. This laser
(Intense Pulse Light) targets darker skin spots to even out skin tone and
lighten dark spots typically caused by sun damage. I encourage you to discuss
this with your provider to determine if this would be the correct treatment for
you.

Maintaining agood at home skin care regiment with a good product line tailored to your needswill prolong your results between treatments and give you healthier looking skin.Always wear a Sunblock with an SPF of 30 daily to protect your skin from the sun’sharmful rays.

Thank you for your inquiry!Getting rid of sunspots or hyperpigmentation requires patience and perseverance.A multimodal approach is necessary.Depending on your skin type and your activities, you may only be able to lighten the spots (vsgetting rid of them completely) and prevent new ones from popping up; which is actually quite animpressive accomplishment.You need a consistent skincare regimen,  a series of chemical peels and PicoSure laser (safe to use on patients with darker skin without causing 'flare up' of increased pigment) tobattle hyper pigmentation.  The chemical peels would also help to decrease pore size, smooth and brighten your skin.

Thanks for your question.  After a complete consultation in a medical setting, we would probably recommend a series of PicoSure FOCUS and / or Flat lens.  It is great for hyperpigmentation and correcting texture issues.  We like it because it is safe for all skin types.  It was worked well for almost all of our patients.  Our patients typically need a series of 3-5 treatments.  You will need to wear a medical grade sunscreen to help keep them at bay.  Best of luck.
