I asked my surgeon waiting on a response. What recommendations would work to help healing. Maybe silvadene cream or santly to help the wound heal. I have been keeping the incision clean and changing the dressing. How often should I change the dressing daily or every other day. I am using steri-strips. I am 2 weeks postop procedure was on the 10/27
I am 4 weeks post op. And I have several areas that are not healing and I am getting so discouraged. I change my dressings and have added vitamin c and zinc to my daily regimine and I am seeing my doctor once a week. I just feel its not getting any better and starting wonder if they will ever look normal again. My husband was opposed to the surgery so the complications have really put a strain on our marriage as well.
I had a breast reduction almost 4 weeks ago and this wound in the T junction is scary looking. When they took the steristrips off there was blistering underneath and they ended up having to take some stitches out that were trying to come through. I was told to put ointment on and cover. It looks like it is getting worse to me. The black spots in the wound are NOT scabs. Is it necrotic? How often do I need to change my dressings?
I'm 4 days post op and the initial dressing has come off. My surgeon has used incision glue and tap (I think he may have used disolvable stitches as well). He advised me to shower and let the water and soap run over the incisions, to dry the incisions off after and replace gauze once a day. I see lots of advice about patting them dry, but the tape stays wet after. What is the risk of blow drying the incision to keep them dry? Should I pat them dry with paper towel instead of a towel?
I had a breast REDUCTION and lift on the 20th of March in Miami Fl. I live in Texas. I have been writing and sending video to him but he has just advised me to see my PCP. I have an appointment with her Tuesday. My problem is, I am losing a lot of blood. I wake up 2 or 3 times a night and have to change my dressings becouse I am soaked in yellowish, pinkish blood and puss. Is this normal amount of leakage?how do I close the wounds? Who should i go see and how soon? I'm in so much pain.
I had uplift and breast reduction op. Almost 4 weeks ago. 5 days ago the inscison opened up and Is quite large, i have been dressing it with gauzes and keeping it clean but it is not drying out and is wet and oozing a little. I have read lots on airing wounds so it will form a scab quicker,,problem is Iam in a hot country and am sweating a bit, do I dress this wound or let it air??
I just want to know when you suggest removing gauze/hydrogel dressing? I was doing it everyday, but my husband thinks I should keep it a little longer & just add a dry gauze on top. He does know a bit about wound care, but I want other opinions. My doc says everyday day to every other day.
I've been using aquacel dressings for this wound, but I was wondering if there's anything else that's thicker and provides a moist environment conducive for healing. It seems like I have to remove everyday because it gets soaked. I want something I can leave longer so I don't disrupt the wound. I don't see progress and I'm scared that the wound will widen. Can you tell me what you think of this wound??
I was shocked to hear a residents explanation of why my niece had bloody soars that looked like scabies or small insect bites all over her under arms and down near her belly button. He said staples were used to keep the dressings from moving. I'm thinking this goes against the physicians oath to do no harm.
I am 3 weeks post op breast reduction surgery, and one of my wounds is troublesome at the T point. My doctor removed all dressings, and I wear a sports bra 24/7. I originally was using pantiliners in my sports bra, but whenever I change it daily the scab comes off in same spot. I then started using 'no stick gauze', but I've been using almost a week, and same thing; it's still not healing properly. No discharge or foul smell, but it won't heal. Any suggestions?
