I've been using aquacel dressings for this wound, but I was wondering if there's anything else that's thicker and provides a moist environment conducive for healing. It seems like I have to remove everyday because it gets soaked. I want something I can leave longer so I don't disrupt the wound. I don't see progress and I'm scared that the wound will widen. Can you tell me what you think of this wound??
Answer: Breast Reduction Wound An exam is necessary but your photos suggest healthy granulating wound tissue not skin in an area of sound separation (dehiscence). The next phase of wound healing is the contractile phase meaning that it should be in the rapid healing phase soon. Close follow-up with your surgeon is recommended.#breastreduction#bestbreastreductionsurgeon#breastreductioncomplication

Answer: Reduction wound Always best to review in person with your surgeon. From the pictures it appears most likely to be granulation tissue and hopefully the wound will start to contract and heal soon. There are innumerable types of dressings that can be used for a wound such as yours. If you feel this one is not working ask your doctor for other options. If the progress is too slow for the liking of you and your doctors and there is no infection,a skin graft could be tried to speed the process up if desired.
