6 weeks post breast reduction and lift. 2 weeks after surgery breakdown started on both breasts and have progressively gotten worse...the left more so than the right. PS said not to worry and to keep applying bacitracin ointment and wear surgical bra. Should I Shower daily to help debride or avoid water? Worried its goimg to get even worse. Thank you for your advice
breast reduction three weeks ago. My left side is healing fine no complications. when we removed the dressing from the right there were blisters along the vertical line. it was suggested that I apply bactroban 2x daily. no signs of infection. I was able to keep all of the blisters intact for about two weeks. Next week will be my four week f/u but do you think this will need debridement? And any suggestions what I can do to help the healing process?
I have T junction skin breakdown. I am super nervous I was an out of town patient. The doctor says to keep it clean and put gauze on it and let it dry out to heal. He called it mechanical debridement. Should I be putting a wound care cream on it? I am almost 4 weeks post op and I just want it gone.
A day after surgery part of each areola turned puffy/purple. Surgeon texted me not to worry, but gently move breast around. These became necrotic. I Am debrided weekly and have open wounds. After first debridement I felt sick and GP said infection. Surgeon says he bets there's no infection. cultures show Staph infection. I'm losing confidence in my surgeon and I am concerned. Should I seek a second opinion? Both look much better, but wet to dry dressing still pulls out smelly green substance.
I had an appointment with my PS but he had to cancel. I clean it twice a day with soap and water and cover with aquaphor and a nonstick dressing. I am 12 weeks post op breast reduction, H to a small C
I had breast reduction 3 weeks ago & scar has split. I'm concerned about infection & healing. There is small amount of smelly reddish weeping involved as well. Right breast healed completely-not T-zone. Thank you,
A little over one month post op breast reduction without implants. An area of necrosis appeared teamed with some fat necrosis. I am seeing my PS weekly for some mild debridment. He doesn't want to 'over do' the debridment as to avoid significant deformities- today he recommended the use of Santyl over the wound. Will Santyl speed the healing process? He said today that it looks a little better than last week but not as good as he would hope. Thoughts? Recommendations?
Directly after surgery I had a black areola/nipple complex. My PS mechanically debrided. Seeing a wound doc and using santyl. I have a large deep wound but some areas on the sides have good blood supply. The wound doc initially said it could close on its own but now we have found more necrosis further underneath. He now says surgery may be required. He also suggested hyperbariac chamber. Can I let it close up around fat necrosis or should it come out. Rash also under both breasts.
