Does the tissue look like it’s healing or does it look necrotic? 6 wks post breast reduction. (photos)

6 weeks post breast reduction and lift. 2 weeks after surgery breakdown started on both breasts and have progressively gotten worse...the left more so than the right. PS said not to worry and to keep applying bacitracin ointment and wear surgical bra. Should I Shower daily to help debride or avoid water? Worried it’s goimg to get even worse. Thank you for your advice

Thank you for submitting your questions and photos!  I am sorry you are experiencing this postoperative complication.  Based on your photos, this tissue does not appear necrotic.  These wounds look superficial and "clean."  Showering daily, allowing soap and water to run off these wounds is beneficial for them.  Your plastic surgeon can follow you closely to make sure the wounds stay healthy and heal well.  Good luck with our postoperative recovery and thanks again for reaching out.

Sorry of the serious postop complication in BR of wound dehiscence. I usually offer PRP infusion wth external lesser red light treatments once or twice a week (fee $500/session) this seems to speed up secondary intention healing.

Hi thank you for your question. Though difficult to be sure from photos it looks as though your body is trying to heal after the wound problems you suffered. Its best to keep in touch with your surgeon and follow their advice.Best wishes.
