Im almost a month post-op. What is a typical recovery period after a reduction? I went from a J to a C cup. I still feel sore around the incisions underneath my breasts, especially toward the outer ends. It still hurts to raise my arms (wash my hair, etc), and I am just EXHAUSTED at the end of the day. I dont work outside the home, Ive been taking it really easy and I have a 3 and 6 year old who are ready to have their active mom back. When should I expect to feel normal again?
I did my surgery in another state. It's not easy to be at close touch with my PS. I need professional advice. 1) are my wounds healing at normal rate because they look black. 2) can I start using silicone sheet? 3) Can I bare it like that (no sheet no steril strips) from now on ? 3) can I apply normal skin lotion on the wound area to make sure it's hydrated? Thanks
Hello , I had a breast reduction at the beginning of February, I am quite happy with the results but I was wondering when I will get my final bra size cause I really dont want my breasts to get any bigger, I even would be happy if they could shrink a bit .
I am 5 weeks out of breast reduction and lift. Yesterday I noticed that my incision lines under my breast (the outer scars) have become very hard. The left breast, which has healed slower, is more firm, and it feels like a bit of a lump on one area of the incision. The right side also has firmness in that same area. I called my surgeons office and they said its likely scar tissue and suggested massaging with aquafor. Id like a second opinion on this. and if I should insist on being seen.
The sensitivity/pain is mostly on the top portion of my breasts near the nipples, but not on the nipple. Is this nerve regenerating? I did not have this pain until 10-12 days after surgery. Pain is present walking and especially riding in a car. No pain when just sitting. Touching them lightly even is uncomfortable. I'm hoping that this will diminish over time. I am beginning to worry.
I went into surgery size between E34 and F34 Now,5 weeks post surgery I'm between D34 and E 34 The size me and the doctor were talking about was C34 I'm really disappointed, is it possible that my breast will get a size smaller in the healing process? Am I just getting upset over nothing? Or the size after 5 weeks is a good indication for the true results.
I had a breast reduction just over a month ago, and around 2 weeks post op I noticed a small break in the incision, this has now opened up even more to over an inch, and is very painful. I know this is a common complication, but the fact that it keeps splitting even more is worrisome, and I would like it to stop as this is already making my scars way worse (I am only 20 yrs old). Please tell me how I can stop it from splitting even more!!!
I had my breast reduction five weeks ago. At week two I noticed the beginning of some splitting in the incisions. Now these wounds are completely open, no bleeding anymore and some brownish discharge still. I've been using wet gauze every day, but I am worried about how slowly they're healing. I am a non smoker. I am also worried about excessive scarring. Will I need a scar revision?
